Hibiscus In temperate zones, probably the most commonly grown ornamental species is Hibiscus syriacus, the common garden hibiscus, also known in some areas as the "Rose of Althea" or "Rose of Sharon" (but not to be confused with the unrelated Hypericum calycinum, also called "Rose of Sharon"). In tropical and subtropical areas, the Chinese hibiscus (H. rosa-sinensis), with its many showy hybrids, is the most popular hibiscus.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesdays is hearts. This is perfect since we have Mr. Teddy Bear and Princess with us to celebrate love and most importantly Happy Teddy Bear Tuesdays !
As we all know by now, Princess and Teddy Bear are very much in love. But like in many relationships, Mr. Teddy Bear is the most romantic one… He loves surprising his Princess with lovely surprises. This week, he decorated his orange apartment with hearts… Hearts are everywhere and the whole decor screams : love !
But Princess was very confused: Valentine’s Day isn’t in March ! Why all those hearts then ? Why decorating for Valentine’s Day one year ahead ? It is way to early !
But for Mr. Teddy Bear everyday is Valentine’s Day when he is with Princess…. and the 2 just kissed under a beautiful red heart.
But I have a meeting this morning and i need my coffee so I will not be able to continue that story … and it is a family friendly Photostream so we will not be able to see what happens after the kiss ;-).

The trees are budding and it's only November. I'm not sure what this bush is, but it gets pink flowers, normally in the spring. And the magnolia trees are also getting buds. Does that mean we will have blossoms in December? Crazy!
I took this in a neighbour's yard, walking up and down my street yesterday to capture the buds and new life that seems to be very confused about what time of year it is. The bokeh is a house at the end that is under construction - there is a big red bin and a blue truck in the driveway.

This young House sparrow female landed at the place where I feed the doves and was surprised by the size of the grain. She soon went to the place where I feed the sparrows.
During the summer, I feed birds less, except during the period when they are feeding their young. This summer was too hot, so they asked for much more water to drink and to get wet in order to cool down.

Even though it's been gray and rainy here, the temps have been in the mid 50's.... our koi were out of their tunnels and on the top of the pond where we could see them... very strange... and now tonight they are saying it's going down into the 20's!!!
The string across the top is to keep egrets or heron from having a free meal...
I was sitting in a park and saw this duck suddenly fell from the sky while it was flying in a flock in a very windy afternoon. It seemed quite confused and sat there for few minutes. I took the opportunity to capture the moment.

This guy seems to have his seasons mixed up. Instead of just now shedding his antlers, he should be starting new growth like the buck in the comment section below. Cades Cove, Smoky Mountain NP.

Fynn: Why ?
Me: Because I want to take a photo and you look nicer when you are smiling.
Fynn: But I can't just smile because of nothing, I need a good reason.
Me: You could think of something positive, something that makes you happy ?
Fynn: Like what ?
Me: Birds, the dogs, rain puddles, tuna, ....
Fynn: Nice ideas, I agree, but do they really deserve a smile ? I'm not sure about that. Will have to think about it ! Come back tomorrow ... or better next week !
