Laser-cut steel, acier découpé au laser.
Bétonnière (2010) est une maquette d’une bétonnière montée sur camion, respectant le style gothique constituant l’un des thèmes les plus iconiques utilisés par l’artiste Wim Delvoye dans son travail. Il rappelle l’une des premières œuvres à avoir conféré à Delvoye une renommée internationale, une sculpture grand format portant le même nom taillée dans le teck (achevée en 1999 après neuf mois de travail) et d’autres structures plus récentes, telles que Tower (2010), une sculputre itinérante ayant été exposée à Venise, Paris et Bruxelles et à laquelle Delvoye ajoute un nouvel étage à chaque événement.
Remarquablement réalisée dans de l’acier inoxydable découpé au laser, Bétonnière capture aussi bien la nature durable du véhicule dont il s’inspire que la délicatesse et la splendeur de l’architecture d’où il tire son inspiration, incarnant ainsi l’opposition faisant la renommée du travail de Delvoye.
Concrete mixer (2010) is a model of a truck mounted truck mixer, respecting the Gothic style constituting one of the most iconic themes used by the artist Wim Delvoye in his work. It recalls one of the first works to have conferred on Delvoye an international reputation, a large format sculpture bearing the same name carved in teak (completed in 1999 after nine months of work) and other more recent structures such as Tower (2010), a traveling sculptor having been exhibited in Venice, Paris and Brussels and to which Delvoye added a new floor to each event.
Remarkably realized in laser-cut stainless steel, Bétonnière captures both the durable nature of the vehicle it inspires and the delicacy and splendor of the architecture from which it draws its inspiration, embodying the opposition The reputation of Delvoye's work.
I couldn't resist (that seems to be my life theme) these tiny construction materials, they're just so cute. The cinder blocks are about 1 1/4 inches wide, & the bricks are only 1/2 inch wide. They came together with the pallet & the "2 X4"s, & I made the bags of concrete mix to go with them. The set also came with some mortar so that you can actually build something with them. I just have no idea what I would build.
