Artist Statement:
“Sanctuary Protocol” is a simulation of the end-stage mechanisms of spiritual rot, where morality, medicine, and control converge in a sterile red room. The figures are headless, faceless, bagged and categorized: WELCOME. INFECTED. This is not about healing. It’s about ritualized cruelty masquerading as care. The black latex forms suggest medical containment, but also fetishism, also execution a collapsed taxonomy of control.
The neon cross is deliberate not a symbol of salvation, but a broadcast: “You are being seen. Judged. Processed.” The gallery becomes a sanitarium for the morally inconvenient.
I created this piece to provoke shame, not fear. Not the shame of the viewer, but the shame of institutions that claim to protect while systematically condemning.
