Ichi-go ichi-e (一期一会, literally "one time, a meeting") is a Japanese term that describes a cultural concept, often linked with the famous tea master Sen no Rikyu. The term is often translated as "for this season only," "never" or "one chance in a lifetime."

Ichi-go ichi-e is related to Zen Buddhism and the concepts of transience. The term is particularly associated with the Japanese tea ceremony, and is often brushed scrolls that hang in the tearoom. As part of the tea ceremony, ichi-go ichi-e reminded meeting participants that each tea is unique.

The term is also repeated in budo (martial ways). It is sometimes used to warn students who often become careless or stop using techniques to "try again", instead of moving forward with the technique, despite the error. In a fight-or-death-life, no chance to "try again". Even though the techniques can be tried several times in the dojo, each must be viewed as a singular event and decisive. Likewise, in noh theater, performances are rehearsed together just once, just days before the show, instead of many times that are typical in the West, which represents the transience of a certain show.

Ichi-go ichi-e ( 一期一会 , literalmente, "uma vez, um encontro") é um japonês termo que descreve um conceito cultural, muitas vezes ligados com o famoso mestre de chá Sen no Rikyu . O termo é freqüentemente traduzido como "para esta época só", "nunca mais", ou "uma chance em uma vida."

Ichi-go ichi-e está relacionada com o Zen Budismo e os conceitos de transitoriedade. O termo é particularmente associado com a cerimônia do chá japonesa , e muitas vezes é escovado para pergaminhos que estão pendurados na sala de chá. No âmbito da cerimónia do chá, ichi-go ichi-e lembra aos participantes que cada reunião de chá é único.

O termo também é muito repetido no budo (formas marciais). Front end of a beautiful concept vehicle that Mercedes-Benz showcased at Pebble Beach in 2014 called the AMG Vision Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo is a Play Station 3 racing game and Mercedes designed this concept, which is a 1:1 scale, for that very game. Stunning design and I was happy to get this close to it (although I was crouched down reaching my hand through people and barriers to get it). I took over 400 photos at Pebble Beach in 2014. This is my favorite.
