The glacial lake at the front of receding Rhonegletscher began to form in 2007 as a result of global warming.

The Rhône Glacier (German: Rhonegletscher/ Valais German: "Rottengletscher") is a glacier in the Swiss Alps and the source of the river Rhône and one of the primary contributors to Lake Geneva in the far eastern end of the Swiss canton of Valais.

The Rhône Glacier is the largest glacier in the Urner Alps. It lies on the south side of the range at the source of the Rhône. The Undri Triftlimi (3,081 m) connects it to the Trift Glacier. The glacier is located on the northernmost part of the canton of Valais, between the Grimsel Pass and the Furka Pass and is part of the Oberwald municipality. The Dammastock (3,630 m) is the highest summit above the glacier.

The Furka Pass, with an elevation of 2,429 metres (7,969 ft), is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting Gletsch, Valais with Realp, Uri. The Furka-Oberalp-Bahn line through the Furka Tunnel bypasses the pass. The base tunnel opened in 1982 and replaced a tunnel at 2100 m.

The Furka Pass was used as a location in the James Bond film Goldfinger.

"Eu tenho medo de deixar passar o tempo e não me ver nele. De olhar muito pra frente, ou muito pra trás, ou muito pra qualquer direção. E acabar me esquecendo de me olhar no espelho. De reparar nas marcas do rosto, na espinha vermelha que não é tão aparente assim, nos contornos do nariz que vão se modificando ano após ano. Tenho um grande receio de me perder ao não saber mais dizer a cor dos meus olhos – ou pior: de não saber mais se eles ainda brilham por alguma coisa apaixonante. Sem contar com o medo de não ter rugas no coração."

Ah, I love the new Kings of Leon Album!

This is my first photo in 2011! But it's old, haha (: Summer 10 - Greece.

I wanted to thank you all, for the support you gave me in the last year. Thanks for all the comments, faves and testimonials. You're awesome!

I hope 2011 will be also great as 2010 was.

My new years resolution is to better myself as a person and an artist and grow. I am going to do what makes me happy. I'm also dropping my 52 week project and I am going to aim for 250 photos this year. I hope everyone had a great holiday season :)

Thanks to my fianceé for holding the bubble machine for me (he made sure I included that)

Last weekend, I went on an epic adventure with Jessie Harbron to a few waterfalls in the Okanagan. Jessie's first time was going to waterfall in B.C, and she went down a waterfall waterslide. Yes, a waterfall waterslide.

I admire Jessie fearless as demonstrated by her abilities to gracefully balance with one leg on a rock pillar. Being fearless is an admirable characteristic in individuals. Indeed an aspect I love to photograph.

I didn't intend to do a miniature today, it was rather a surprise for me. I took a nap and had this super cool idea of turning my hand into a throne and realized my hand wouldn't bend the way I wanted it. Oh the struggle! But I quickly thought of this.

I think I want this to be my contribution for this months theme of Concept Collaboration (The Grand Adventure). I'm not sure yet. I do have another one in mind.

But as far as this photo goes, this stuff bear in the shot is the first stuffed animal I got from my grandfather. I'm not really attached my the stuffed animals I've collected over the years but I will always consider this one my favourite. I don't really have any clear memories of him, just that he would buy me and my sister candy. And stuffed animals, mine were specifically bears. I know I was really young when he did pass away, and right now when I look at the gem of a bear I can't help but think who he imagined I would grow up to be. Would he support what I'm doing. How often would we visit him? What advice would he give me right now.

It's hard because I never really got to know him.

Pretty much all my extended family lives in Alberta, so we don't see them very often. We try and go out there ever summer if we can. This year I won't be able to go due to my new job. It's not the worst thing, to some degree it helps that I'm staying behind (I'll be the one to look after the house, the dogs, the garden, etc), but such as life. I'm not sure where I was going with this. Anyway I have to head out right now.

Have a good night and thanks for all your support. You ladies and gents are all rock stars!

for concept collaboration's april theme "the cube".

this was such an open ended concept, but what I knew for sure was that I wanted to frame myself with the rectangular window in the door (rectangles are kind of like cubes... right??!?). so I made a photo that is also totally open for interpretation for the viewers. if you have an interpretation, please share it with me! :)

"Today my forest is dark. The trees are sad and all the butterflies have broken wings."

-Raine Cooper

There is a brevity to beauty. Every day is between two bookends of a watercolor sky. A caterpillar gives way to wings and soon after sets as the sun.

This was one of those unforeseeable perfect moments that couldn't be planned. As we were leaving the woods I noticed how Lizzy's hair was illuminated red, to my delight, when the light hit my lens these wonderful wings spread across my model's back. Yay God!

While in the midst of this “wait a little longer” I am going to hush my incessantly worrying mind and harness opportunity. There is a “resume” button on the horizon. So here we go.

Time to press “resume” and move forward into this year with expectancy. Step into the future.

Do you need to recommence?

This is my contribution to Concept Collaboration's February theme: spiral. It was inspired by how quickly a simple encounter can become something that it never was in the mind of someone with anxiety or depression. Sometimes what should be an easy conversation leaves me panicked, queasy, and full of self-loathing. I know in my head that the other person is completely oblivious to my perceived awkwardness, but I need to consciously calm myself down and remember that to keep my emotions controlled.

I have a tattoo on my left wrist that simply reads 'don't panic'. I'll post a photo of it one day, probably.

I am thankful for my life!!!! Fortunate to live in a beautiful place. Every day, I state the obvious. The basic observation about my surrounding environment. Seeing the beauty in flowers on the side of the road, those kinds of-of thing always want to appreciate my surroundings. I always try to enjoy my environment every day. Too many beautiful things, people, and places. I never want to be desensitized to my environment. That's one reason why I try my best to be thankful!

I thought of doing a shot with a boat for the theme of adventure because when I think of adventure, traveling comes into mind and boats were one of the most used mode of transportation during the early days from expeditions and voyagers that discovered many places.

Holding a torch was so much fun! I woke up really early to get the tones and color everything right. So hard to get this shot though!

I'm so happy to be fabricating new props again! This cube is made out of clear acetate and reinforced with a thicker corner plastic. This may be the beginning of a new series called "Head Space," which will make visible unseen thoughts.

I had this image in my hard drive for a while now and I had completely forgotten it was there. I shot this awhile back, in the morning and a few people saw me and even took pictures while I was doing this, while some even mistook me as some creepy figure in red in the middle of the woods. I have always admired adventurers that chose to venture on their own and take on the world so I made a photo based on this idea. I wanted to make it look mysterious and creepy but at same time have a sense of solitude and convey the story of a lone traveler. Much inspired by the thriller movie "The village" for this concept.

I was thinking of opening an etsy shop for my photos, what do you guys think? Would there be people interested in buying my work?

So into the deep of thought that everything around you fades away and you end up focusing in the possibilities that lies in front of you and then, you realize it is as endless as the horizon.

I Shot this at Talisayen Cove between 6-7pm to do an exposure long enough to smooth out the water. The late sunset really gave moody colors to add to the photo. And the clouds really came well with the photo depicting a calm atmosphere.

During the weekend when I was here I was able to meet and talk to so many new people. We'd talk about different things from traveling to life and passions.

This is the image I shot for Concept Collaboration's February theme, "Spiral".

I wanted to challenge myself extra while creating this. I used a mixture of natural and faux lighting to shoot the image. The post processing in its self took 1.5 hours and was over 50+ frames that I ended using out of 100+ that I shot. I have come to really love extensive and intense composites like this. I am teaching myself new things about my shooting techniques, editing techniques, and personal creative style. This year I really want to concentrate on stepping out the box, out of my comfort zones, and growing more and more as an artist.

This image was so much fun to work on from start to finish. I cannot wait to create more images like this in the future. I also will be having a speed edit come out soon for this image as well!

I'm starting a new serie, about the 'light' we want to show to people. We want to look bright, at our best, always happy and beautiful, all the time, everywhere, especially on social media. But what if that bright light we show made people invisible, I mean with no personality, no contrast, no shapes. We try to be sunny, but when you get to know people, we discover that we are not as bright as we seems to be.

Hope you'll like it :-)
