A portrait of an "intellectual uncle" drawn entirely from my own imagination. HP Touchsmart tm2 and MyPaint.
this was sort of a concept idea Angie and I thought would be kind of cool, so we went for it and suckered our friend Chris into helping us (okay... so he was willing, and don't let him tell you otherwise)
it started out as kind of a joke... I think the editing needs tweaking, but I wanted the blue/green hue there, that was very important... anyway, I think it turned out as we wanted. we originally wanted to shoot in the forest area of the bog... but single digit temps and snow changed our plans.
to those who follow at all... it should perhaps be semi-obvious where our inspiration came from, but if you don't get it... then don't worry. ha!

Peugeot introduced a web-based amateur style competition at the 2002 Paris Motor Show[1], inviting aspiring designers to create a completely unhinged retro-futurist design that incorporated distinct styling features of a historic Peugeot model. A total of 2800 proposals from 90 countries were registered, and Stephen Schulze, a 32-year-old German graphic artist, was selected as the winner. At the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, Schulze was awarded a trophy and €5000, and it was announced that Peugeot would create a full-scale version of the design.

The completed design was shown at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show. It featured a body of aluminum and fiberglass, and 21-inch wheels. The 4002 incorporated headlights hidden behind the grille itself, as a stylistic nod to the streamlined Peugeot 402 from 1936. As merely a show car, it was not powered and not road-legal. As a styling experiment, the car was considered dynamic, glamorous, and supremely daring, but probably too extreme to predict any real influence on future Peugeot designs.

A crude Concept drawing of my future project "Ghia GT " This is a car I've been dreaming about building for the last 20 years or so and I still plan to someday. My next step is to make some small changes and draw it up better. and yes I can do it.

Course 1.
This is a dish were context is important. This was something that both CT and I would discover and come to appreciate during our 5 day eating excursion.
Escalivada is a traditional Catalan dish that consists of several types of grilled vegetables that are seasoned with olive oil and salt. It's simple and flavourful.
In this case, the concept was maintained but the execution and presentation modernized. The vegetables - red pepper, green pepper, eggplant and roasted garlic - were all roasted, then puréed and encapsulated into a thick skin and set in a light broth. Smoke came laced in the orbs and in the smoke that was trapped in our initially covered dish. Taste wise, each pouch burst with sweet concentrated flavour, while the mild broth beneath served as a loose contrast. Interesting.
The initial sketch for the idea after I read the concept description. The garments themselves were inspired by fabrics I knew I had on-hand (sheers, and some starry-print scraps), and the wings by materials I thought I had on hand (turned out the star gems I had were both too few in number and not suited for this project).
