SCOUT: "Sellotape is at the ready Paddy!"
PADDY: "Excellent work Scout! I'm just going to fold this piece of paper over." *Concentrates very hard.* "And if you can stick it with your Sellotape here." *Holds paper with paw.*
SCOUT: "Goodness Paddy! This is really pretty paper."
PADDY: "Yes it is Scout! It's hand made red paper that has been hand printed with gold flowers. Daddy bought it from a fancy paper shop called Zetta Florence."
SCOUT: "I'll be very careful with the Sellotape then, Paddy." *Carefully sticks Sellotape onto the paper with a trembling paw.*
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.

11th February 2019:
My much needed supplement of Vitamin D. This phial is a 3 monthly dose.
When I first came across these glass phials I was terrified that the ends would end up not breaking cleanly and I'd get glass in whatever I was taking; or giving to someone. Especially those that contain pure fruit juice concentrate for babies. They break far more cleanly than you'd think.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
Throwback Clancy, 2yrs 32wks
This is my look when waiting for Dad's first toss of the ball.
After this, just add glazed eyes and my tongue hanging out to picture me from then on.
We went almost all the way back last week for the inaugural Throwback Tuesday photo, so we thought we'd bring you right up again with one taken less than a couple of weeks ago while we were out on that abandoned road in east Ottawa.
There is a tweak of color and contrast helping the backlight to show off my spectacular auburn highlights!
Ottawa East, Ontario.

The Ruhr Rocks ...
The Ruhr was at the center of the German economic miracle of the 1950s and 1960s, as very rapid economic growth (9% a year) created a heavy demand for coal and steel.
After 1973, Germany was hit hard by a worldwide economic crisis, soaring oil prices, and increasing unemployment, which jumped from 300,000 in 1973 to 1.1 million in 1975. The Ruhr region was hardest hit, as the easy-to-reach coal mines became exhausted, and German coal was no longer competitive.
Likewise the Ruhr steel industry went into sharp decline, as its prices were undercut by lower-cost suppliers such as Japan.
The welfare system provided a safety net for the large number of unemployed workers, and many factories reduced their labor force and began to concentrate on high-profit specialty items.
As demand for coal decreased after 1958, the area went through phases of structural crisis (see steel crisis) and industrial diversification, first developing traditional heavy industry, then moving into service industries and high technology.
The air and water pollution of the area are largely a thing of the past although some issues take a long time to solve. In 2005, Essen was the official candidate for nomination as European Capital of Culture for 2010.

I saw this child out with his mother, at Freshwater Bay on the Isle of wight he worked hard at keeping his balance and the stones in place under his chin.
The latest Mojo challenge is up! This go around, it was to "redo" an old layout - whether your rip it apart and salvage, recycle the idea, or redo the page using the same pictures...and then use 5 of something! =)
I used 5 of those little brown paper circles from sushipotparts...and re-did an old page by starting it all over again. (the old page was "this".) I'm still not too ecstatic over this version of it..maybe some pictures aren't meant to be scrapped?? lol..come play along, Elle's Studio is the sponsor this time! www.scrapmojo.blogspot.com
