GeekPhysical and Illutron did a workshop this week in Odense, teaching students all about Arduino, electronics, physical computing, using sensors, and building robots from RC Motors! We had a ton of fun, and were happy to see people being creative with their robot building.
Our robots consisted of servo motors, one small and one big, glued to each other with the smaller on top. This one had a stick glued to it which could be used to pick up objects. Participants were taught using Pure Data and the pduino interface so they could easily associate the programming with what they were doing.
A computed tomography scan produces incredibly detailed, cross-sectional images of your body for a more accurate assessment of your internal tissues and organs. The computed tomography procedure uses computer processing to generate 3-D images from X-rays taken in a helical fashion around your body. These individual cross-sectional images are often referred to as “slices” and are particularly useful when examining soft tissue and blood vessels. Occasionally, iodinated contrast (X-ray dye) is used to enhance computed tomography image detail. Our radiologist will determine if the contrast is needed; if so, it will be injected intravenously through the arm.

In eight of Kenya's most impoverished areas, Cisco Systems, Inveneo, and its Certified ICT Partners, are bringing connectivity and information access to underserved areas through Community Knowledge Centers (CKCs) in partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative. Each CKC is intended to be a resource to aid in the long-term economic development of the community in which it has been established.
