In the first fortnight of the Otago Polytechnic Bachelor of Information Technology project we invite local industry leaders: "The Dragons". They provide critique of projects as early as possible. This is a chance to get feedback, and hopefully unearth opportunities and risks.

The first computers of the university were concentrated at the especially created department called Centraal Rekeninstituut or Central Computing Institute. Over the years computers became smaller and the Central Computing Institute lost part of its function. It changed it name some time ago into Informatiseringsgroep or I-groep for short (I don't know what the name means in Dutch, so it is difficult to translate. The I-groep is responsible for the network backbone and connection to the internet. They do telephones too.) This change hasn't been picked up by everybody however, this diversion notice at the bus stop refers to the "Rekenkundig Centr." or Computing Center.
This is a view from behind my computer looking towards the living room and kitchen. I quite enjoy the laptop skin I got for my birthday from my sister. It fits the black and white theme of our apartment quite nicely.

Digi-Key Collegiate Computing Competition 2008
Photos from the 2008 Digi-Key Collegiate Computing Competition. The University of Minnesota, Morris, sent two teams (Flexible Tornados and Monkey Island Mafia), and the Flexible Tornados took first place in the overall competition!
Most of these photos are of UMM's teams, but some are of Digi-Key's staff (in the dark-ish green shirts) and faculty and students from other institutions.
These have been shrunk to speed up the uploading process, but other than that all these have been posted "as is" without any cleaning, cropping, or other editing.
