This is my ancient first ever laptop - a Compaq Contura Aero 4/25,
Powered by a 25 MHz 486SX chip - it didn't even have floating point math. That came with the 426D-something chip. (I can't remember the second letter in the name now ... DX maybe?) It had a woping 4MB of RAM and ... I forget how big the harddrive was ... maybe 100MB? Maybe 125MB? Something like that.
Also pictured is it's accompanying PCMCIA type-II floppy drive. (PCMCIA type-II eventually became renamed PC-card.)
I went to my mechanic for oil cooling ideas. He did not have an old, used radiator, but he did give me this fuel pump. Luckily, it was also 12 volts, so I was able to integrate it into the computer's power supply. However, in the end, priming this pump was entirely too difficult. Once I hooked up all of the tubing, I could never seem to get all of the air out of this pump. It also ran a bit hot. In the end, my 15 watt provisional pump still seemed to do a better job of moving the oil.

the computer I built for my father-in-law. It broke, most likely due to all this dust. Even after cleaning it out it was still broken. So I built him a new one.
As you can see it is not exactly "stealth". I need to do some work on making it look more pleasing to the eye.
The World was shocked at Alienware’s monster curved monitor in January this year at CES but now Shinoda Plasma Corp of Japan have developed a 125-inch curved surface display using its PTA (plasma tuba array) display technology.
- Feature curved, beveled edges with elements of precision
- Bowl-shaped keyboard deck with numeric keypad accentuation and textured touchpad
- Enhanced audio experience: a chrome strip bordering the speaker serves as a visual cue for audio and an exposed speaker bar provides better sound projection
- Available in ruby red, linen white, sparkling black, winter blue and bright purple
- The g6 and g7 are expected to be available in the U.S. on July 25
- The HP g4 will be unavailable in the US
My computer crashed last weekend, and I finally fixed it. I found three stink bugs on the electronic componets. After plucking them out with tweezers, the computer worked! Now I am really behind on my PAD photos and will try to catch up soon.
After school, the computer bank fills up with students working on -- could it be homework? Whatever it is, they're busy!
