Released in September 2001 for the 2002 model year, Toyota released the Camry XV30 series as a larger sedan, but without a station wagon for the first time. The wagon's demise occurred due to its sales erosion to minivans and crossover SUVs.

Toyota redesigned this series from the ground up for the first time since the V30 and XV10. Through efficiency gains such as increased computerization, and by having the XV30 ride on the K platform introduced with the Toyota Highlander (XU20) of 2000, Toyota expedited the XV30 production development stage to 26 months, down from 36 months with the XV20. As a consequence, Toyota claimed the XV30 to have cost 30 percent less to design and develop than its predecessor. XV30 also had increased parts content over the XV20, but did not cost any more to manufacture.

Until the 2003 model year, the Camry Solara remained on the XV20 series chassis, and received only minor styling upgrades to the front and rear ends. However, the Solara did receive the same 2.4-liter 2AZ-FE I4 engine that was available on the Camry sedan. The US received three engine options, a 115 kW (154 hp) 2.4-liter inline-four, a 142 kW (190 hp) 3.0-liter V6, and a 157 kW (210 hp) 3.3-liter version of the same. The 3.3-liter was only available for the Camry's sportier "SE" model.

The white Camry here is undoubtedly a better car than any of the other designed this month. Faster, safer, more efficient, quieter. These are all the hallmarks of progress. The Camry's design, however, is the very definition of cautious.

In the future, no doubt, there will be some people who get misty eyed when they see one drive down the road. As mentioned, not a bad car, but not inspired either.

SM City Cebu is a large shopping mall located in Cebu City, Philippines. It is the 4th shopping mall owned and developed by SM Prime Holdings, the country's largest shopping mall owner and developer. It is the company's first shopping mall outside Metro Manila and the 4th largest shopping mall in the Philippines. It has a land area of 11.8 hectares and a gross floor area of 268,611 m2 ( 2,891,300 sq ft ), becoming part of the world's 15 largest shopping malls and making it the 11th largest shopping mall in the world in 2009.

On an average day, more than 100,000 people visit SM City Cebu, with the figure increasing to 140,000 to 150,000 on weekends. Due to Cebu City's position as a transshipment point for the Visayas and Mindanao, and SM City Cebu's location close to the city's port area, the mall attracts a significant number of transient shoppers.

SM City Cebu proves that variety is the spice of life. You can find an array of exciting food choices, from fast food chains to elegant fine dining restaurants. You can also experience retail heaven with its many shops such as Oxygen, Penshoppe, Mango, Topshop, Promod, People Are People, The Body Shop, National Bookstore, Ace Hardware, Toy Kingdom, Toby’s Sport and much more.

The mall first opened in November 1993, and was seen as catering to the low and middle class of shoppers, in contrast to its upmarket competitor, Ayala Centre Cebu which opened a few months later. An expansion wing that particularly targeted upper class customers was added in 2007. As of 2009, the mall has undergone major renovations. Expansion plans with a hotel and convention centre are being developed. More shops are being proposed in 2012.

SM City Cebu is a four-level complex featuring eight cinemas with a total seating capacity of 8,848, a food court, a fully computerized bowling centre, 8,000-square meter amusement centre, and a 2,000-square meter trade hall. Before the addition of the North wing, it had a car park capacity of 1,629.

The North wing expansion, opened in 2007, features two floors of retail stores, restaurants, and cafes. It houses more than 200 tenants and caters to a more upscale clientele. The expansion also added three levels of covered parking, and a one level of roof deck parking.

SM City Cebu, opened on November 27, 1993 with an area of 161,562 m2 (1,739,040 sq ft ). Initially To attract shoppers, Manila-based movie and television stars and entertainers performed free concerts at the mall. Free jeepney rides to the mall were offered to fulfil the lack of available public transportation.

Construction on SM City Cebu's expansion building, dubbed the North wing, began in March 2006. The expansion, which was developed at a cost of Peso’s 1.3 billion ( US$30.5 million ), was built on the parking lot to the north of the existing building, temporarily decreasing the number of parking spaces by more than 30%. The North wing was started in April 2007, and opened in November 2007, featuring spacious hallways catering to the leisure market and upper class customers, while the existing mall, re dubbed as the South wing, is targeted for those who love the hustle and bustle. It increased the total gross floor area of SM City Cebu by 107,049 m2 ( 1,152,270 sq ft ), for a total of 268,611 m2

( 2,891,300 sq ft ).

IMAX ~ In early 2008, SM Prime Holdings signed a deal with IMAX Corporation for the opening of additional IMAX theatres, following the success of the country's first IMAX theatre at SM Mall of Asia. The IMAX theatre planned for SM City Cebu will replace cinema four screens. It will feature clearer picture quality due to its use of a digital projector rather than a film projector. A budget of Peso’s100-million ( $2.4 million ) was allotted for the renovation and was opened to the public last July 9, 2010 with James Cameron's Avatar in 3D

Times Square New Years Eve Ball Drop in New York City 2015 - 2016

The Times Square Ball is a time ball located atop the One Times Square building in New York City, primarily utilized as part of New Year's Eve celebrations held in Times Square. Yearly at 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, the ball is lowered 77 feet (23 m) down a specially designed flagpole, resting on the midnight to signal the start of the new year. The first ball drop in Times Square took place on December 31, 1907, and has been held annually since (except in 1942 and 1943 in observance of wartime blackouts). The ball's design has also been updated over the years to reflect new advances in technologies—its original design utilized 100 incandescent light bulbs, iron, and wood in its construction, while its current incarnation features a computerized LED lighting system and an outer surface consisting of triangle-shaped crystal panels. As of 2009, the ball is also displayed atop One Times Square year-round and is removed only for general maintenance.

The Times Square ball drop is one of the best-known New Year's celebrations internationally, attended by at least one million spectators yearly, with an estimated global audience of at least 1 billion. The prevalence of the Times Square ball drop has also inspired other similar "drops" held locally in other cities and towns around the world.

I made this little goody bag for my two granddaughters and decorated several boxes of yogurt covered raisins to tuck inside. As I don't have a computerized die cut machine, I went old school and folded cardstock to make my bag. Fortunately it came out the first time! A few strips of Valentine stickers, and lollipops will finish it off. The paper I used is really really old scrap by KI Memories, and the stamp set I used for the houses and trees is Our Town by Winnie & Walter. I substituted die cut hearts (Penny Black) for the tree leaves. The Love sentiment is also by Penny Black. Stitched rectangle die is by Lawn Fawn and the circles are Sizzix. I feel really good about having used up paper scraps, old stickers, and breaking out a new stamp set!

Traditional Andalus-Boustrophedon typography in Cadiz, Spain. Note the unique syllable oriented bouma shapes! According to a local specialist gathering I encountered in a sherry bar, the usage of the boustrophedon pattern was brought to Andalusia by the Phoenicians. The traditional written style reflects Arab cursive writing which was super-imposed on the Andalusian Rotunda style during the Moorish occupation in the Middle Ages. In contemporary computerized typography, as shown here, this unique pattern is often replaced by justified setting. Notice the ‘camel’ capitalization: RestauRante

My new sewing machine that I've been debating whether I should move on from manual machine to computerized machine.

This one has 8.8in throat space, computerized and has an option for straight stitch plate. My old loyal Husqvarna Husky Star E20 is a manual sewing machine with 5.5in throat space.

Since I've been sewing quite alot and it turned out I quite enjoy it. I thought I should explore this new interest hobby. I can see my house being decorated with sewing projects, quilts, clothes for my daughter and maybe husband too.

I'll still keep my old one for teaching my daughter when she's old enough. Take my old sewing machine for sewing classes. And since my new sewing machine doesn't have free arm, I could still use my old sewing machine.

telephone facility. The PTCL line was cut only by negligence of C & W

department (Communication and Works). When Assistant Business Manager

of PTCL Bakht Baidar contacted he confirmed that due to negligence of

C & W department our PTCL main cable of 700 lines have been damaged

but we did not lodged FIR against XEN because he promised for payment

of 2 million rupees to PTCL for replacing the damaged cable. Besides

it debris of rock also lying on the main road and not removing for

disposal causing great problems for pedestal and traffic as this is

main Airport, Hospital, Courts, Colleges and schools road. In this

connection concern contractor was contacted regarding none removing of

debris Arshad Shaheen of Shaheen Construction Company JV said that I

had requested Executive Engineer of C &W time and again for payment

but my bill of 15 million still pending and he paid me only 4 million

against 15 million. He said that nothing was paid to us for

mobilization of machinery and XEN Pir Muhammad creating hurdles in the

way of this developmental project.

He said that concern SDO visited the site of retaining wall and

expressed his satisfaction but alleged that XEN not allowing us to

continue work and that is why the work is slow causing for delay of

the project. He also told media men that according to drawing of C&W

height of the rock (road side) have been shown 20 feet while actual

height is 120 feet and they have shown its width 9 feet but actual

width on the spot is 35 feet and C&W paid a huge amount to consultant

for a wrong drawing. He said that the concern department was using

different tactics in hand over of work order. A mechanic Said Rehman

told that I am contractor of labors but we are waiting for the last 25

days and XEN Pir Muhammad not giving us drawing for retaining wall on

river side to star work. It was also revealed that one employee of C&W

has taken rupees 240000 from the concern contractor ( as

bribe/commission) though an open cheque which was also confirmed by

Manager Allied Bank Chitral Irshal Ali that a sum of Rs. 240000 has

been cashed /drawn from account No 653-0 of Arshad Shaheen on 5th

April 2011 cheque has issued on 6.11.2010 drawn by the brother of

head clerk of C &W and we also collected his computerized national

identity Card copy for bank record. On other side Arshad Shaheen

alleged that I had informed Bank Manger to block my account and

nothing be paid to any person but even than he paid huge amount from

my account. In this connection when this scribe contacted Executive

Engineer C&W Pir Muhammad that the amount received by your employee is

legal or illegal and why the contractor was not bound to remove debris

from main road he refused from any response and treated with a very

inhuman and misbehave attitude. While on the other hand due to wrong

planning of C&W department there are so many turns in by pass road

which is harmful and dangerous for smooth traffic. Source told that he

is supporting by ANP led government and that is why his staff are very

bold in getting commission and bribe from contractor. Social and

political circle of Chitral have demanded from Chief Minister KP for

releasing fund for this long awaited project of By pass road as well

as they demanded action against the concern quarter for creating

hurdles and delay tactics in this mega project.

The dynamism of the industrial city intensified from the 1970s, based on the diversity of projects ranging from transport equipment, the most significant, to furniture, to food, to metal, clothing, footwear and fabric, making it the second area in economic importance in the state, attracting people from other regions of Rio Grande do Sul and even from other states. In recent years the local economy shows a drastic change of emphasis and of great importance and the tertiary sector growing computerization and automation in business, infrastructure, concern for the environment and opening up new jobs and new markets in several international fronts. Cockpit Flight Simulator Trainer

McDonnell F-101B Voodoo

Cockpit simulators are used to train flight crews and to maintain their proficiency. The complexity of a simulator can vary. The cockpit procedures trainer (CPT) is a basic simulator that is used to train a flight crew in cockpit familiarization and checklist procedures. The CPT has no simulated aircraft systems or flight simulation.

More complex flight simulators have computerized aircraft systems and flight simulation that are programed to expose flight crews to various combat and emergency scenarios. Flight simulators can be either fixed based or full motion simulators.

This cockpit flight simulator trainer was used to train flight crews for the McDonnell F-101B Voodoo. The F-101B was an all-weather interceptor used by the Air Force and Air National Guard from 1959 through 1982. The pilot sat in the front and the radar intercept officer was in the back.

The Nixie Watch project plods on! Software development begins.

Every project needs to go through this phase, at least in my scheme of handling things.

Here we see the Development Environment of Kings hosting an Atmel ATTiny861 microcontroller (MCU). Just out of shot is my laptop, upon which I wrote software for the MCU that causes it to blink an LED. This is a nice quick way to make sure that I haven't fried the chip and that I've wired everything up properly. For the programmers out there, I consider this step to be the "Hello World" of MCU programming - though this implementation is a bit more sophisticated than it needs to be; the LED blink is driven by a timer interrupt.

This version differs from the IN-14 clock version linked above in that it's all powered by batteries. One of the challenges of designing the watch software will be to set it up so that the MCU draws a minimum of power - not a pressing issue for a clock which is going to be plugged in to a wall socket, but critical for a thing like this which I would like to run for months on a trickle of current.

The little black box in the center right contains 2 AA batteries, which are standing in for the single lithium watch battery which will run the MCU in the real watch. Below it is the display power supply with its own battery. Getting the MCU and display working together is going to be the tricky part. To conserve power, the MCU will run a program that will cause it to immediately shut itself off - but not quite all the way off; it'll be just awake enough to notice when the display power supply fires up. That is, when the watch's wearer presses the button to show the time. At that point the chip will awaken, fetch the time from a crystal-based real time clock chip (not yet wired up), and start showing it on the nixies. When the wearer releases the show-time button, the display power supply will be disconnected and the MCU will notice that, stop trying to display the time, and hibernate again.

Interestingly, if you find such things interesting, this is the way most battery powered computerized widgets work; for instance, games on the Nintendo Game Boy (which I used to program, back when I was younger and even dumber) spend most of their time with the main processor asleep like that. At least they do if they were written well.

After a bit more fiddling I will be able to wire this to the display prototype and it will start being a watch - at least in the functional sense. Trying to wear the prototype on your arm would be like wearing a very geeky buckler.
