Ladies and gentlemen, let me please present the lesser seen and normally hidden away network switch cabinet :)
Its located in a top secret area in the building, on the 1st floor, just to the left past the library, in a room off one of the IT Suites (if you reach the restaurant you've gone too far, you need to back up a bit)
Joking aside, this is a very important installation as it links all of the IT equipment together and forms the hub of the IT network in the building.
It took 3 of us a week to connect all the cables you see (and another week to do the second cabinet in the other server room), which run from the panels at the top down to the switches at the bottom in neat bundles through the tight spaces at the sides of the cabinet - I think its fair to say that we used just about every swear word in the English language (and, in my case, a few Welsh ones!) whilst we were doing this, and we hope to not have to do any more in the near future!!
