1990 Computers were introduced into the classroom

Computers were the introduction to the digital world. Computers allowed students to type and save documents to a CD-ROM. Computers have evolved over time, many of us have seen computers go from a large, bulky desktop to a laptop smaller than a one subject notebook, or even the hardware and external pieces go from CD-ROMs to floppy disk, to a compact disk to now a flash drive.

One of my four IBM Model M keyboards, most of which came from thrift stores and yard sales.

This one is dated September 28, 1989, making it about 24 years old as I write this. This unit came with a detachable PS2 form factor cord which still connects to my now-aging desktop. If I buy something newer, I'll probably need an adapter to use it, as I think PS2 is pretty much a dead standard.

Lastly, it does, in fact, still work just fine. In fact, I'm writing this on it now! At one point, a cat spilled water on it and a few keys stopped functioning. I was quite happy today when I found that just disassembling the case, removing the keys, and blowing out the inside seems to have revived it!
