Compressorized AHU - Compressor Installation

Dave says: Let me tell you why I am a true nerd. Your boyfriend would be proud

Dave says: The Cure reissued/remastered all their albums a few years ago, right? Well there is this one song on their 1984 album, the one everyone hates, The Top

Dave says: the song is "bananafishbones", and it's always been my favorite Cure song, for some reason

Dave says: Well I read a long, long time ago that Robert Smith also doesn't like this album because it was recorded at the wrong speed, like the pitch is slightly off.

Dave says: I bought the remaster last year, and yeah it's louder. The speed is all the same on the album...except for "bananafishbones"!!! They sped it up one step (like one key on the piano) and it sounds wrong, wrong, wrong. I picture the label, Rhino, having a three-minute conversation with Robert Smith over it, them hiring some flunky brother-in-law to “fix it” and Robert Smith never listening. Meanwhile, the precious album I enjoyed for over twenty years is fudged up. It's like f***ing around with Star Wars!!!

Dave says: I haven't listened to it since. Today, I decided I would take the version from the non-remaster and compress it and eq it to be like the old one.

Dave says: and now the album is complete for me.

Dominique says: Hahaha yes you are officially a music nerd. When I hear stories like this from you or Terrence I am going to start carrying around star stickers and giving them to you guys

Dave says: (even though all I had to do on the remaster was correct the pitch down one step...I had put too much work into mastering the old one that I said "okay, I'm in too deep -- just keep going")

Dominique says: Hahahaha. Seriously that is funny to me because well, I love music but then you guys love it to a level that seems like it would hurt hahahaha.

Dominique says: dude I am so american. I just got my $150 shoes in the mail yesterday that I charged. AMERICA!!!!

Dave says: oh man!!!

Dave says: what are they: made of platinum?

Dominique says: Haha it was my first time. I am now hooked on buying overpriced shoes. No they are Fryes....and now officially sold out everywhere.

Dominique says: The best part is....I will only appreciate them ahahaha

Dave says: you like shoes so much it hurts

Note: Sorry that all I talk about is music when it's supposed to be coffee.

The platform at the rear is where the gas is compressed, in order to push it through to the beach. It used to come out at a massive pressure, but that has dwindled as the gas supply has become depleted.

The gas is compressed using several Rolls Royce RB2-11 jet engines and the noise is simply phenomenal.

The gauges read in Atmosphere, the pressure in the system could exceed 2000psi. By measuring it in ATM, there was less perceived danger, as the numbers on the gauges were lower.

Feb. 19, 2020. Weymouth, MA.

North Weymouth, MA – Early this morning, over 200 members of Fore River Residents Against the Compressor Station (FRRACS) and allies gathered for a mass demonstration at Enbridge’s compressor station site to call on Baker and the DEP to immediately halt construction on the project. Multiple people were arrested for blocking the gate to the construction site. Two other people were on site for a more than an hour, locked to pieces of construction equipment. As a result of today’s action, construction was stopped and workers left the site.

Organizers allege that Enbridge, a Canadian corporation, has a long track record of violating state law and Indigenous sovereignty. The Atlantic Bridge project, with Weymouth at the center, would export fracked-gas to Europe by way of so-called Nova Scotia where a gas storage cavern would illegally violate Mi’kmaq treaty rights.

There are concerns about the impacts of building this facility on a toxic waste dump and the additional air quality hazards in a community already plagued by industry. Activists believe that the Weymouth compressor would exacerbate climate change by opening a channel for fracked-gas exports. Many at the demonstration today voiced solidarity with the Wetsu’wet’en Indigenous people fighting another gas export pipeline slated to violate their lands.

After years of public opposition, construction began in December on the natural gas compressor station in Weymouth.

Opponents criticized the permitting of the compressor station, a project that's created controversy in South Shore communities, environmental and public health groups, and elected officials on the city and state level.
