Fungi in my Compost Bin. I had in that compost bin, rotting Malay Apples, small tropical fruit. These fungi were growing and I actually had my head in this bin to get these closeups. It sounds gross but they are small and I had to get close to get the macros, and the bin did not smell. LOL. This black thing is our "bio-orb" composter that I found on clearance at Menards. I like a futuristic looking composter, but I think that it's time that we got a second, as this one is getting "mature" and is ready to provide soil. The second would start the process again, from the beginning. The stain underneath the composter is "compost tea," a vile, but nutrient rich liquid that leaks from the composter. Probably tastes great. If you're a plant.

Out playing with the Flashpoint Radio Triggers. I was shooting to have a small portion of the photo properly illuminated, with the rest slight underexposed. I think this technique works better with a wide angle lens. I did use some home-made barn doors to limit the light spread.
