Ivanovka (Russian: Ивановка) is an estate near Tambov, Russia, which used to be the summer residence of the Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in the period between 1890 and 1917 (until his emigration). It was the family home of his aristocratic relatives, the Satins. Many of Rachmaninoff's earlier masterpieces were created in its bucolic atmosphere. A museum commemorating the life and works of the composer was opened there in 1982.

Mikis Theodorakis (1925–2021) was a renowned Greek composer, politician, and activist, best known for his iconic film scores, including Zorba the Greek (1964). Born on the island of Chios, he was deeply involved in Greece's political struggles, fighting in the Resistance during World War II and later opposing the military junta (1967–1974). His music blended classical, folk, and contemporary styles, often inspired by Greek poetry. Imprisoned and exiled for his political beliefs, he became a symbol of resistance and democracy. His vast body of work includes symphonies, operas, oratorios, and popular songs, making him a cultural icon in Greece and beyond.
This man was one of the smartest and most brave men, and no other was able to express all the feelings, fear, sorrow and also the beautiful moments in a humans life in songs, like he did. I wanted to share this, to keep his memory alive.

Music flows from Willem Vermandere like bright fresh sparkling water from a mountain spring. It bubbles up as he sits and composes a new piece, lost for a moment in the notes tumbling from his clarinet. I always feel privileged to witness Willem at work creating beautiful music with his mind, fingers and the air in his lungs, on his favourite clarinet.
This sheet music is Chopin's Nocturne Op.32, No.1...Listen
I don't have any new images as the weather has been so FREEZING and uninspiring...so I've posted an old favourite with a beautiful piece of music to relax to :)
