This image shows how the topological complexity of physical reality (elementary particles) can be created from a background membrane, IFF that brane is unbreakable and very elastic.

 

Holons are topological enfoldings of a non-breakable, dynamic, indestructible, very elastic Membrane. They can explain gravity, the fundamental forces in nature and physics, and the fundamental interconnectivity and interactions between all beings and all objects.

Holons are multi-layered "spaces". A holon contains always parts of the two parents Membrane peaks. The penetrator is Yang (male, lingam) and the acceptor is Yin (female, Yoni).

The two Yin membrane parts cover partly the Yang peak.

In the simplest form the holon has only three layers. When holons combine to more complex holons there are much more layers. And even the orientation (which peak is active and which is passive?) influences the outcome, since the unbrokenness implicates a non-commutative reality, where magical mathematical commutative tricks are not allowed or causally possible.

This concept shows the Concept of the Universal Energy Coupling. The essence is how two elements of Neutral Energy (Zero Field Energy) can couple/join because one is active and one is passive, making together a new specific energetic union. Such new holon can be a fundamental particle in physics, that is logically constructed by the dynamics of a single cosmological membrane. So we don't need Quantum Uncertainty (HUP) to explain nature.

 

This approach makes it clear how the Union of BODY and MIND is topologically constructed, and how consciousness fits in this.

PUBLIC: Present Predicaments in Architecture and Urban Planning

 

PUBLIC is the third installment of a series of conferences exploring present predicaments in architecture and urban planning. This conference focued on the relationships between planning, architecture, and the public while exploring the social impact of designs and decisions. Questions to be considered included: What role should public space play? What is the public definition of beauty? What forces enable planning and architecture to redefine culture and serve as a catalyst for change?

 

A diverse group of experts who actively shape the public opinion of architecture and planning responded through informal discussion to a series of four "provocations." These free-ranging conversations underscored the complexities and contradictions inherent in each provocation as well as suggest potential solutions to such predicaments. Open discussion at the end of the afternoon encouraged the audience to take part in the conversations.

The complexities of molding a panel which is essentially carpet on top of cardboard without destroying it was not very fun. Nor was it easy, but here at Password:JDM, we were still able to get this completed with the processes that we have developed in house. All of this was done in less than a week. The agenda was to produce a piece thats adds volumes in terms of looks to 2013+ Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ / Toyota FT86 and keep everything very tasteful. Work is well underway on Sky Waka, the new high-speed gondola at Whakapapa on New Zealand’s North Island, with the team facing ever-changing logistical challenges with engineering specifications, getting materials on-site, and the physical construction process.

 

Lack of access over unique volcanic terrain adds to the complexity of this project. Even transporting concrete from the truck to the construction site has required some out of the box thinking.

 

“Conventional concrete trucks drive part way up the mountain and are then replaced with a trailer concrete mixing bowl with a 3.5 cubic metre capacity” says Whakapapa General Manager, Jono Dean.

 

“The concrete is then transferred onto a purpose built aerial material ropeway system that then transfers the loads to the locations required in the mid mountain. To date, 400 of the 1100 tonnes required for this project has been transported.”

 

The Swiss engineered ropeway can transport up to 5 tonnes of equipment and materials without relying on helicopter use, which can be restricted due to weather conditions. At over 1000m in length with towers up to 34m tall, it is the first of its kind in NZ to be constructed for the purpose of building a passenger ropeway on a ski field.

 

“We’ve had amazing luck with weather this summer, which has got the project off to a great start but being up a mountain conditions could change rapidly and affect the project timeline.”

 

The construction of the 14 tower foundations to support the new Sky Waka gondola line are nearly complete and work is underway on the terminal stations where people will get on and off the gondola.

 

Italian based company Leitner is supplying and installing the gondola, and General Manager David Ratcliffe says he’s excited to be involved in New Zealand’s largest gondola installation. “This project has presented unique challenges but work is progressing well and it’s exciting to be a part of such an iconic project.”

 

The fifty Sky Waka gondola cabins will feature floor to ceiling glass for breathtaking views, internal ski racks, audio and lighting and individual leather seats offering business-class luxury to passengers befitting of the UNESCO Dual World Heritage status of Whakapapa Ski Area. Each cabin accommodates 10 passengers and even the tallest skiers will be able to stand upright in the cabin with more than 2m of internal clearance.

 

The Sky Waka will run from the Top of the Bruce base area directly to the award-winning Knoll Ridge Café. It will transport 2,400 people per hour over the 1.8km in approximately 5 minutes.

 

Social and economic indicators for the gondola project are compelling, with a team of about 35 hands on people working on the project and another estimated 100 people contributing to the project behind the scenes, including a strong contingent of local employment from the area.

 

The gondola project has involved working closely with Ngati Tuwharetoa and DOC which has seen a significant reduction in the number of structures on the mountain, the new installation having less than half of the structures it replaces.

 

As a public benefit entity RAL invests its proceeds back into developing the mountain’s facilities and the new gondola forms part of the $100m reinvestment strategy announced by the RAL board in 2015.

«Les camions en béton conventionnels roulent en partie sur la montagne et sont ensuite remplacés par un bol à béton d'une remorque d'une capacité de 3,5 mètres cubes», a déclaré Jono Dean, directeur général de Whakapapa.

 

«Le béton est ensuite transféré sur un système de remontée mécanique sur matériaux aériens spécialement conçu à cet effet, qui transfère ensuite les charges aux emplacements requis en moyenne montagne. À ce jour, 400 des 1 100 tonnes requises pour ce projet ont été transportées. ”

 

Les remontées mécaniques suisses peuvent transporter jusqu'à 5 tonnes d'équipements et de matériaux sans recourir à l'utilisation d'hélicoptères, ce qui peut être limité en raison des conditions météorologiques. Avec plus de 1000 m de long et des tours atteignant 34 m de haut, il s'agit du premier du genre en Nouvelle-Zélande à être construit dans le but de construire un téléphérique pour passagers sur un domaine skiable.

 

"Nous avons eu une chance incroyable avec la météo de cet été, ce qui a donné un bon départ au projet, mais être dans les conditions montagneuses pourrait changer rapidement et avoir une incidence sur le calendrier du projet."

 

La construction des 14 fondations de la tour pour soutenir la nouvelle gondole Sky Waka est presque terminée et des travaux sont en cours sur les gares terminales où les gens pourront monter et descendre de la télécabine.

Chaque cabine peut accueillir 10 passagers et même les plus grands skieurs pourront se tenir debout dans la cabine avec plus de 2 m de dégagement interne.

I was familiar with the newer printing of this book in a larger landscape format, but it originally was published as a compact little manifesto-like volume.

I've always thought that such things are only possible in poorly-designed software projects. Apparently, the plumber at Alcatraz had an artistic soul...

I tried to clarify the relation between matter and language, from the original chemical components of life (as self-organisation) to the emergence of species, ethno-linguistic groups, programming languages. This cladogram draft permits me to map clearly the shortest path from matter to language (red line). Of all this complexity, interwoven histories, some simplicity should emerge...

 

The proximity of 2 elements on this tree also make the compatibility of the elements more obvious : compatibility of human and other mamals organ transfert, compatibility of 2 close-by computing syntaxes.

 

This cladogram is very simplified regarding the complexity of evolution, just a few branches out of the main path. I might continue this research here, feel free to advise me on this subject, if you know a software that does wonderful graphics of interwoven cladograms, I am interested.

Biography & Artist Statement:

My passion for photography started when I got my first digital point-and-shoot camera when I was 14; but, my fascination grew when I got my first DSLR at the age of 17.

 

I took Digital Arts and Design at Malayan Colleges Laguna and graduated in 2010. I then moved to San Francisco and continued my education. Since then, I have been honing skills more and more by taking photography classes, and doing some experiments involving light.

 

I also often make my own equipment when the tools I'm looking for aren't commercially available.

 

I am now seeking growth in the world of portraiture, black and white darkroom photography, and 3-Dimensional photography.

 

CCSF Photography and You:

I have always been fascinated by images because they spark my imagination. These images make me question what happened/is happening/will happen next, and where is it. Ever since I got my first DSLR in 2008 I've been exploring the things I could do with it: landscapes, 360-panoramas, light painting, freeze motion, and more recently, 3D.

 

Taking classes in the photography department meant challenging myself to do what I have not done before. It makes me think of new ways to be creative. When I take pictures in my "mini studio" in my own little room, it often involves setting up the light, tying objects with strings, and making strange contraptions just to make the image I imagined possible.

 

Now I am thinking of ways I could combine these things that I learned to make something new out of them. This makes the process twice as difficult and hopefully the results will also be twice as better.

This image is a photogram. Produced and made with a randomly average Xerox printer. I tried to find patterns and structures in the complexity of the outcome of the printing process. By doing various test with the printer I found the emptiness the most attractive. An image that on a first glimpse shows nothing, but with a more detailed and specific view starts to show very complex patterns and raster. The complexity is located in the detail if you want. The bigger you print this picture and the longer you watch it, the more you can get lost in the complexity of the structure it has.

One frame extracted from audiovisual live performance "Sounds of Complexity", in collaboration with Kinotek. Patches are entirely programmed in VVVV. The sound part of the performance is constituted by the electroencephalographic activity of a person, translated in audible audio spectrum. Such frequencies control in real-time specifical parameters of the visualization.
