(Mamă gradinarului)
A-nmugurit sâmburele divin.
Înseamnă, pesemne, c-a venit timp
pe cuvânt ca-i vei înmiresma viaţa-n
parfumuri de crin.
Şi nu-l vei lăsa în plină grădină
fără de-un rost.

The end of the MNYGJ, with a single DPU, comes around the curve toward the west switch of Eisele (Clay). The head end of the train is already out the west end of Eisele and heading for Blue Mountain Road! At just over 7,000 feet long, the train is over 1,200 feet longer than the siding at Eisele.

I am SO pleased with how this turned out. I love the colors, and how cheerful it is. Perfect birthday gift for my daughter, turning 5 this month. I highly recommend this pattern to any crocheter - I'm pretty sure I'll be making another one sometime soon.
The original triangular cupola I began this tutorial with months ago is in the rear of this polyhedron. I only resumed work three weeks ago, spending perhaps an hour per weeknight folding each triangular cupola.
When I took this picture yesterday, I only had one more cupola to attach. As you can see, my technique has been to glue (yes, glue) the front and back of each cupola separately. In most cases I attached the 12 front hexagonal units before the 3 rear triangular units, but I reversed this order for the last cupola since it is easiest to do the inside before the outside when closing an object up permanently.
Of course I finished the object yesterday. Since I gave the polyhedron to Addie_Goodvibes this morning, I forgot to take a picture of the completed structure. (I'll have to take one later.) Update: See the next image in the set.
As usual I needed 510 sheets of paper to complete this polyhedron. Each sheet was 15x15cm, so the whole thing is about the size of a beach ball; I can fit my head through any of the decagonal holes. While the great rhombicosidodecahedron is fairly stable, I don't think it would be a wise idea to roll it around due to the weight of the paper.
loose fitting short sleeved casual green linen dress with side pockets and box pleats completed. i may wear it to the vet tomorrow. i'm taking grumps for a checkup to get his flea and worm treatment :)
i've found a couple of dress patterns i'm interested in making. both are more fitted than i've been making. they are waisted dresses: one with long sleeves and the other short sleeves. these dresses introduce fitting a zip and darts to the bodice and skirt. i'll give it some thought ....

Completed in 1932 for just over $200,000, the concrete span of Bixby Creek Bridge, one of the highest bridges of its kind in the world, soars 260 feet above the bottom of a steep canyon carved by Bixby Creek. One look at the canyon’s steep and crumbling cliffs, and it’s obvious that building the bridge wasn’t exactly a cakewalk. First, a massive wooden framework had to be built, with materials brought by truck on what was then a narrow, one-way road riddled with hairpin turns. A staggering 45,000 individual sacks of cement had to be hauled up the framework—and this is before advanced heavy machinery could help do the lifting. Each bag was transported via a system of platforms and slings suspended by cables 300 feet above the creek.
Curiously, the span was completed before the road, and it would be five more years before the route linking Carmel (about 15 miles to the north) to San Luis Obispo would even be opened.
The Union Trust Company Bank building stands at 200 Collinsville Avenue in downtown East St. Louis, Illinois. Designed by architect Thomas Imbs for banker August Schlafly and completed between 1922 and 1926, it is locally significant under Criterion C of the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) for Architecture. The building is an excellent example of early 20th century Classical Revival style bank design and is the last of its kind in East St. Louis. This style, associated with permanence and trust, took hold in the late 19th century as bankers sought to regain public confidence after the Panic of 1893. Thirty years later, these associations were magnified in tumultuous East St. Louis where public morality was at an all-time low after its most recent series of political and social disasters. The Union Trust Company Bank building embodied Schlafly’s recent role as civic leader and signaled the city’s economic recovery by spurring badly-needed investment downtown. The period of significance is from 1922 to 1926, spanning the year the building opened to the public through the construction of its interior mezzanine according to Imbs’ original design.
The Union Trust Company Bank was added to the NRHP on May 27, 2014. All the information above along with much, much more was found on original documents submitted for listing consideration that can be viewed here:

After completing some routine training exercises, Nova Team is back aboard Deep Space Outpost Arcturus enjoying some R&R in the mess hall. Here we have Captain Knight and Lieutenant Stargazer enjoying some Space Coffee with Nova Team's newest crew member, navigator Lieutenant Reese Ramirez. Suddenly the station's comm system beeps and a voice over the intercom requests Nova Team to report to the main conference room in 15 minutes. Captain Knight wonders what that could be all about…?
To learn more about Nova Team's other adventures visit their album: flic.kr/s/aHskpavQh5
For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.

This was the final in a four shot sequence of a MOBL regurgitating a feather ball (?) —something I'd never seen before! The first three images left much to be desired as bird shots, but this final one turned out quite well I thought. If you look very closely you can still see (gray spot on the far left) a tiny bit of the projectile that disintegrated when he coughed it out!

Barrhead, Alberta, Canada
Barrhead is a town in central Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by the County of Barrhead No. 11. It is located along the Paddle River and at the intersection of Highway 33 (Grizzly Trail) and Highway 18, approximately 120 km (75 mi) northwest of the City of Edmonton. It is also located along the route of the Express Trail, used by the North West Company, which was originally a First Nations trail.
The town was named after the Scottish town Barrhead, the birthplace of one of the children of the area's early settlers, James McGuire. Barrhead's official bird is the great blue heron
This is my last ditch effort to get some cookies done. We leave today for Florida for a much needed week's vacation! And of course, my big order of new cutters just came UPS today. I don't think my hubby would appreciate postponing the trip so I can play with them though. :(

"Tot Andorra" (complete Andorra) -view within 1 photo. Including my mountain horse at Coll de la Botella with Vall del Madriu and view to Catalunya at background. Pal, La Massana, Vall nord, Andorra, Pyrenees
Coll de la Botella (2000m) is ultimate starting point for north-west and also west-east Andorran mountainhiking & biking tours along north borderline to France with Alt de la Capa, Pic de Comapedrosa, followed by Arcalis, Sorteny with the northern Pyrenees (left, off camera). Or for south west tours via Catalunya, Spain, following historic smuggle pathes via Tor and Os de Civis (behind camera). Or Andorra south cross country mountain hiking/mountainbiking tours (front center). Well and comfortable overviewed from here.
You should just check local weather conditions. This scene (2000m altitude) is early autumn, with Costa Brava (0m altitude) just 200km away. Nevertheless Andorra with its highest mountains at back is completely southbound and sunny with relaxed people from everywhere in the world, stable weather conditions, not too cold, not too hot.

After completing the run-round manoeuvre (see previous image), Class 58 No. 58031 heads away from Bloxwich and approaches Sneyd Lane bridge with the empty MGR rake for Essington Wood Disposal Point on 15th July 1986. The 'new' Bloxwich station, which opened in 1989, is now located by the bridge in the background. It replaced the earlier station, which closed in January 1965, which was located beyond the background bridges close to the signal box seen in the previous image.
