Active Assignment Weekly December 7 - 14: Opposite Colours
WIT: At a family Christmas gathering, these cousins were wearing complementary colours of red and green, perfect for Christmas and the assignment. In post, small tweaks, and crop to 8 by 10.
Taken for Active Assignment Weekly - Complementary colours
What it took: Planted the coreopsis & the agapanthus, waited a year for someone to set the assignment, waited some more for the right weather, waited some more the right light, waited just a little more for a break in the wind.

This is a macro shot of the logo on a "Credit Book" with sales dated Mar/66 to Aug/67. Credit books were used prior to the introduction of credit cards. They contained a series of cards what were printed with the credit account holder's name etc, and athe card was completed with the date and amount of the sale, signed by the customer and removed from the booklet. They were then redeemed by the dealer for gasoline purchases and went to the accounting office and a monthly statement was prepared for the customer to pay.
The largest purchase recorded is for $4.93 including $3.78 for gasoline, $.80 for oil and $.35 for KleenFlo.
The book could also be used at Holiday Inns.

Thank you for any comments and/or favourites - I always appreciate them. Apologies for not being able to reciprocate of late, but I'm hoping to catch up gradually over the next week or so now that LG's back at school.

Red-flushed young leaves, bright-red and yellowish-green in summer, becoming orange and red in autumn and winter.
Just a banana ... but with the colours inverted in Paintshop. So I guess the complementary colour to banana yellow is .... ..... BANANA BLUE!
It was quite a ripe banana, so there may have been more of an orangey tone to the yellow than was noticeable to the naked eye. I quite like using Paintshop (or Photoshop) to find out what the "opposite" colour of something is - sometimes the results are more interesting than you'd think.
I was away all day without camera, except the one on my cell phone. We had diner in a restaurant in Tienray, a small village of pilgrimage in Limburg, also known as 'Small Lourdes'. The restaurant is located in the former chapel of the convent St. Joseph, built in 1909. An imposant building that belonged to the Missiezusters Kostbaar Bloed (Mission Sisters Precious Blood), but since 2007 turned into a hotel-restaurant. The restaurant still has the original stained-glass windows of the chapel; beautiful colours, but unfortunately too many colours combined for challenge.
However, then I noted this window in the men's toilet, with yellow and blue glass, subtle but complementary. I wasn't sure how well the colours of the glass would come out of the cell phone, but I am quite pleased with the result.
