I was away all day without camera, except the one on my cell phone. We had diner in a restaurant in Tienray, a small village of pilgrimage in Limburg, also known as 'Small Lourdes'. The restaurant is located in the former chapel of the convent St. Joseph, built in 1909. An imposant building that belonged to the Missiezusters Kostbaar Bloed (Mission Sisters Precious Blood), but since 2007 turned into a hotel-restaurant. The restaurant still has the original stained-glass windows of the chapel; beautiful colours, but unfortunately too many colours combined for challenge.

However, then I noted this window in the men's toilet, with yellow and blue glass, subtle but complementary. I wasn't sure how well the colours of the glass would come out of the cell phone, but I am quite pleased with the result.

Today, [https://www.flickr.com/photos/arisan/] and I visited the Press Museum in Amsterdam, to see on its last day an exhbition about icons in photography. The exhibiton showed various examples of icon photos, especially interesting was how a picture becomes an icon, and how its iconic use is sometimes completely out of the original context. Like this famous picture on the billboard in front of the museum. The photo was originally larger, and shows that Che Guevara is actually talking to a person. Later, the photo was cropped to contain only his face, giving him a more visionary look, and converted into a two-colour version. Here, in yellow and blue ;-)

A square composition of boats tied up at Tam Coc. I just loved the shape, line, colour and texture of these boats and have so many more compositions to play with.

This is an amazing flower/plant... the florist said it was called a Dark orange Newton, but I can't find any reference to them anywhere.

Complimentary colour scheme, colours that are opposite to each other on the colour wheel.

I really wanted to maximise the impact of the orange colour . I used purple tissue paper pinned to a window so the light reflected through.

Originally taken for Wk 4 Dof shots, but thought I'd save them for Wk5 - Colour.

Held each November at the time of the Kartik Purnima full moon, Pushkar Camel Fair is one of India’s most highly-rated travel experiences, a spectacle on an epic scale, attracting camels, horses and cattle visited by over 400,000 people over a period of around fourteen days.

For visitors it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the colour, spectacle and carnival of one of the last great traditional melas, which brings livestock, farmers, traders and villagers from all over Rajasthan.

Our Daily Challenge ... complementary colours

Spotted this little fella running across the soil, managed to get him onto a nice bright green leaf, and spent the next twenty minuted battling to keep him still long enough to get him in focus. Only managed to get one succesful shot!

Hero Arts “complementary” ....

MMMM wonder if you can tell which colours I went for? Still using my first Hero arts stamp set "be yourself".

I've used Breathe Collection from Prima Marketing, I've created the bendy stem by curving the stamp on my acrylic block. I have paper pieced the buds. The cutie birdie I have stamped onto faux suede paper. Finished with Hero Arts message stamped onto velvet ribbon and some co'ordinating buttons and bling which I coloured with my copics.

There's more details on my blog... www.paperbabe.blogspot.com

Thanks for stopping by, HuGs Kim :)

I was asked to revamp boxboy (one of my first threadless subs) to be printed on a tee. So happy this may end up on a tee.

The blue of the flower and the orange of the hoverfly are opposites on the colour wheel, but natural partners in Nature. Observed in the Townsville Palmetum.
