Compass Song is an app-based public sound artwork inspired by Times Square’s rich history as the Crossroads of the World. Artists Mendi + Keith Obadike have stretched fragments of music, poetry, stories, and myths across the pedestrian plazas and surrounding blocks in all four cardinal directions, for visitors to discover whether they’re exploring the neighborhood or simply on their way to work. The lines on the back side of the paper were made visible by a "dark contrasts" digital filter.

On the grounds of Ishihama Shrine in Minami Senju, Arakawa Ward, Tokyo.
This large stone table was at the side of the shrine grounds. A metal plate is mounted in the top showing the four cardinal directions (lined with properly with where the table is set), which are separated into 24 subdivisions, each marked with one of the 12 kanji for the signs of the zodiac.

Some bizarre working by Compass Royston today. While Vario S295 was on the low floor 555, GX55 was on the non-low floor 588/589 alongside Manual Vario S592, seen here outside the Castlegate Centre on the 588 to the Transporter. It was later replaced by Teesside University Park & Ride Solo T14, whose PR1 duties were being covered by B10M Coach N30CRT.

Demonstrating the fact that moving charges create a magnetic field, which can be measured using the deflection of a magnetic compass.
Although normally Vario-operated even on Saturdays when Compass Royston actually have enough Solos to operate their entire service work with them, today saw W87 and GX55 on the 588/589. W87 is seen at the North End of Stockton High Street on the 588 to the Transporter and Billingham.

Compass is a new work by artist Alexandre da Cunha for Garden of Reason at Ham House and Garden. Visitors are invited to interact with a become part of the art by climbing the steps.
