In any event, I'm absolutely in love with this lens. Ridiculous center sharpness, great bokeh and when paired with an FX body you can use it to shoot ambient light portraits in a cave.

This is after it sustained a little damage flying from my shivering gloved hands onto the pavement somewhere near Pablo, Montana.

A competent (and resilient) midsize compact point-and-shoot with a decent 105mm zoom and smooth, silvery satin plated body.

This was my test shot -- a compact flourscent bulb. The bulb emits at certain wavelengths only, with large black gaps.

I'm partially color blind and I think this spiky spectrum is why CFL's make things look weird colors to me. I do much better under sunlight or tungsten lights -- They emit a relatively continuous spectrum of light, without the big black holes.
