It was her birthday so we stepped out in the backyard and took a few photos since it was a special day.
Akaroa Harbour is part of Banks Peninsula in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand.
It is one of two major inlets in Banks Peninsula, on the coast of Canterbury, New Zealand; the other is Lyttelton Harbour on the northern coast.
It enters from the southern coast of the peninsula, heading in a predominantly northerly direction.
The name Akaroa is Māori for "Long Harbour". It is to highlight that when the French founded the village of Akaroa in 1840, they referred to the bay as Paka Ariki.
The entire harbour is the caldera of an extinct volcano.
"Open your eyes
And let the sun break in for a while
There may be something
That you've never seen inside
Feel how your heart beats
Like a heavy machine
The sound of the traffic
Is like a silent dream
The dust in the park
The exhaust from the cars
Ascends in that heated afternoon "

Patrick approached me and wanted to know what film I was shooting in my camera. He was disappointed that the RX1 shoots digitally. He told me he was going to shoot some old black-and-white film soon. Then he told me not to drink Fanta as he posed for several shots in the soda aisle at Smith's.
I have an old Canon Powershot A1300 cheap compact digicam from 2012 lying around and I decided to take it with me on a run last weeked and took some shots along the way.
The image quality is surprisingly good when there's enough light to get a shot off with the base ISO. It's also very easy to carry around. The IQ falls apart very quickly when the light levels drop, though.

Last Christmas! (sunset tower)
Hi everyone! : )
Captured this 'Sunset Tower' photo this past Christmas, when the sun sets fairly early in the day (this one occurring at 15:36 / 3:36 PM).
I found it an interesting shot, for as the sun was moving behind the big tower, it was also sinking into a huge cloud bank which helped create those orange & gold tones all around : )
Disappearing at an incredibly quick rate, I was lucky to catch a few shots when I did!
I was on a different island from the tower and had to ZOOM IN quite a bit to capture this moment, but I think the little compact Sony did pretty good : )
The tower is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month!
It stands a total of 170 meters (560 ft) tall
Appreciate your support my friends... hope you find something interesting or enjoyable here!
I'll be around to visit you all soon... have a wonderful day everyone!
☺
