The glorious Garden District is one of New Orleans' most popular tourist spots, with an atmosphere very different from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. Even on its busiest days, the neighborhood's large, graceful mansions seem to invoke a hushed reverence among those who flock to see them.

These mansions and the elegant landscaping around them are the main tourist attraction in the Garden District but there are other must-sees as well. Whatever your Garden District plans, make some time to just stroll around and admire the architecture and the marvelous details that make each mansion unique and don't forget to explore one of the famous New Orleans above-ground cemeteries.

Slightly moving the camera to get that moon rising.

Sailing at night has some advantages but I still don't really like it.

Although, the shooting star I saw was really amazing! I've never seen anything similar to this. Awesome. Much better than this sunset, but I couldn't take a picture of the milky way.

I won't add the pics in a chronological order, just as they seem to be "right"

But the set is in "real life order"

Who says you need a big sensor and crazy lenses for some nice bokeh? The little G5 has a few tricks in its sleeve, too!

impressions @ outdoor

I know this might not seem like much, but it means a lot to me. I am from Texas, and my family was that family people in NM and CO love to make fun of. We were able to go ski for a few days once a year. We didn’t have the greatest outdoor clothes (I definitely remember skiing in jeans on some of those warm days), and I’m sure we carried our skis in a goofy way. We usually went to Crested Butte or Purgatory because my dad knew someone who owned a condo there.

I would take the trail maps home and study it for a year. I would look at the trails, figuring out what I’d skied and what I wanted to ski the next year.

I’ve been honored to have my photos published in many places, but seeing my photo on the cover, and in other sections, of the trail map just hits a little differently.

It’s a real honor to be in a position to have my photos represent Taos Ski Valley.
