The driver of the blue Ram I guess, supposedly, doesn't know what a compact car is. He parked his Ram right in the compact car spot, blocking any people form entering or exiting. This looks like a job for the Front Field Police Force.

Ponder & Best's computer keeps very busy! This actually does seem to be a fresh design for 1969, reflecting P&B's increasing involvement in their Japanese suppliers' design process.
I'll leave it to you to evaluate how "compact" this lens actually is; but the 4.5-foot minimum focus is indeed a cut above the norm.
I got my own copy of this lens in one of those "whoops" eBay lowball-bid incidents. But it arrived with sticky aperture blades. While I did eventually succeed in cleaning and reassembling the lens, as I recall my wisdom from that experience was that opening from the back was a mistake (the click mechanism for the aperture ring has an incredibly tiny spring and ball bearing). Taking care to note the original orientations of threaded parts up front, it was much easier to extract and clean the aperture blades from that end (using lighter fluid).
Riverside Walk
A unique village south of Matlock in Derbyshire, built alongside the River Derwent in a steep and beautiful gorge.
It developed as a spa town in the nineteenth century and was extremely fashionable and prosperous, with its spectacular scenery adding to the general appeal.
It was visited by the then Princess (later Queen) Victoria on 22 Oct 1832, when she was a guest of the Duke of Devonshire at nearby Chatsworth House, and again in 1844.
These visits served to enhance the reputation of the resort but eventually, the advent of the railway changed all that by bringing 'day trippers' by the score. It was at this time that Matlock Bath developed its inland 'seaside' resort image that it still carries today.
How things have changed over the years, the one at the back is from 1979 and the digital one at the front is from 2006... positively ancient by today's standards. Many of the photos on my current photostream are still being taken with the little Sony by the way !
To make this photo I laid a white sheet of paper and propped it up with a book on my kitchen worktop and mounted my Canon 7D on a tripod and did a long exposure under the kitchen light on auto white balance....all very low tech.

A new toy - the controversional Sigma with the special Foveon sensor. A premium compact camera, in the general photographic public most known for the poor ISO performance, high noise levels, low battery life, complicated interface, "just" a 4.6 MPx effective resolution, and a primitive AF system. But there are not many people who actually have used this cameras, or generally Foveon cameras at all...
I bought it for 200 USD from it´s first owner, in perfect condition, with only 600 shots on the shutter (and with two batteries and two hoods). I was just curious about the technology, but it turned out that this is a really great camera for many situations. The metallic body is of premium quality, all perfectly set together. The lens is simply great, ISO 400 is still usable, but by normal occasions ISO 100 is all I need. The interface is better than I expected, easy to use, and manual focusing is extremely simple and effective. When correctly set, the battery holds for 300 shots with no problem. The saving of a picture needs some time, but by shooting with a prime - who is really in a rush? The images are full with details and very sharp, I think that this sensor can counter a 10 MPx Bayer pattern sensor when it comes about details. And the special crisp in the pictures, and the colors - I haven´t seen something like this by other cameras.
The Sigma DP1s is a premium-built camera with a big sensor, some years old but with image quality succesfully countering today´s low-end DSLRs, and any compact camera in the market. It´s not ideal for any situation - but it´s small, easy to wear everywhere, and it´s a lot of fun to use it.
And additionally - the DP1s wasn´t really sold in our country, it was sometimes offered but never sold regularly like the DP1 and DP1x, so it´s quite unique here - and I really like it to have something unique ;-)
