Built on the Renault Trafic Van architecture and now available with the E-Tech electric powertrain, this Flex variant retains the practical dimensions, load volumes and versatility that made the Trafic a favourite — while adding the benefits of electric driving: silent operation, minimal emissions and lower running costs.

Interior & Working Environment

Inside the Trafic E-Tech Flex Van, Renault continues to emphasise usability for professionals: the “mobile office” concept is present — a folding centre-seat/table allows the driver or passenger space to become a work surface or storage area.

Renault Media

The cabin layout supports digital connectivity (smartphone integration, multiple USB ports), comfortable seating, practical storage and visibility for commercial use.

🌍 Exterior & Load Area Design

The Trafic E-Tech retains the Trafic’s practical body shapes, available in different lengths (L1, L2) and heights (H1, H2) to suit different work-applications. Its design positions wheels closer to the corners to maximise load‐space and maintain manoeuvrability.

The electric powertrain is packaged without compromising cargo dimensions, making this EV van useful for urban delivery, service work or suburban commercial use.

🚚 Why It’s Good for Professionals

Zero tailpipe emissions and reduced operating cost help in low-emission zones and among fleets seeking sustainability credentials.

Adequate range & payload to support a typical working day of urban or regional operations.

Charging flexibility, meaning downtime is minimised.

Familiar van format with known load volumes, equipment compatibility, and body-builder options.

Professional grade functionality — because Renault builds the Trafic with tradespeople and fleet users in mind.

✅ Considerations

As with all electric commercial vehicles, real-world range will depend heavily on load, terrain, weather and driving style.

Payload and towing of an EV van may still be modest compared to traditional diesel equivalents — applications requiring maximal load or heavy towing may need to assess accordingly.

Charging infrastructure and cost of electricity should be evaluated in fleet use.

🎯 Summary

The Renault Trafic E-Tech Flex Van is a compelling choice for professionals who want the flexibility of a medium-sized van, but also the benefits of electric driving. Whether you’re a contractor, delivery operator, service technician or corporate fleet manager, this van offers a smart balance of practicality, load capacity and green credentials. What is the cheapest electric van? It is the Renault Master, the cheapest large van in its sector and also cheaper than many of the medium vans in the market!

Does cheap mean not as good? Far from it, it has great payload, space, equipment and range! It can carry nearly 1500kgs, has plenty of range with an official range (WLTP) of 285 for the MM40 and 255 for the MM35 (see video for explanation) and can charge pretty fast too and fill its 87kWh battery from 10-80% in 38 minutes adding around 142 miles of range.

Now it is fair to say the range is a little optimistic, but not more so than others on the market. I was able to achieve 3.3mpkwh on a mix or motorway and rural.

This should be a van you consider as it will save you money too! The fact that it is electric would normally make more expensive to lease and then you make your money back on the fuel. With this Van you win on the lease cost too!! Meaning that the total cost of ownership (TCO) is a big saving if you can charge privately!
