A historic community meeting place on Commerce Street in the Town of Occoquan. The Town of Occoquan historic marker on Commerce Street (right) reads:
"Odd Fellows Crescent Lodge No. 3 erected this frame meeting hall in 1889. Volunteer Lodge members and a paid carpenter built it. The first floor was a public meeting room and theater. The Masons, American Legion, church congregations and other groups met there. Traveling actors staying at the Hammill Hotel performed on the stage."

World's busiest container port from 1992 to 2005, and still very near the top, Hong Kong is full of scenes like this one. This terminal, within walking distance of our hotel, was tiny compared to what was going on farther down the harbor.

The west entrance emerged in the 1970s when an adjoining building was demolished.
- The exposed wall resulting from the demolition of an adjoining building was refaced by Page & Steele architects, including the doorway arch, architraves, and rosettes to blend in with the building's architectural style.
- The west-entrance wall that was exposed after the demolition of an adjoining building was refaced with Indiana limestone.
- Upon completion in 1931, it was the tallest building in the British Empire.
- Around its magnificent entrance we see Mercury, the god of bankers, as well as images of bees, squirrels and beavers, symbolizing industry, hard work and thrift.
- Tallest building in Canada from 1931-1962

I've never done any real night photography before, but a few weeks ago the Toronto Photography Meet-up Group organized an outing and managed to get us permission to shoot inside Commerce Court. Shooting on film is especially challenging at night, where due to many factors (film reciprocity among them) exposure is a crapshoot to a night-shooting amateur like myself. That being said, I am very happy with the resulting pictures and I'll be posting them over the next few weeks.
In case anyone's wondering, this is a 10 second exposure at f/16 on Kodak Ultracolor 100 film, shot with my Nikon 24-85 at 24mm with very minor corrections to colour in Photoshop.

Just like the blogosphere, there is an e-commerce world too. The size of both of these atmospheres is infinite, and is available to the majority of the world.

I haven't been taking many photos lately mainly due to school. I just got a polarizing filter for my wide angle lens so I went out and took some photos this weekend. I am going to New Jersey & New York next week so hopefully I should have some more photos soon.
