This is one of my military commando customs. I think it's one of my best too. It's got quit a few BA weapons, but it's still got that original LEGO touch.

The military exercise ground Porsangmoen is extensive. Our Belgian soldiers have so much freedom to practice their tactical skills. Not only by section and platoon, but also for a whole battalion!
Four shooting ranges are contiguous in the theater on June 8 an assault by three companies and support elements. That requires a lot of coordination, especially as the year unfolds with live ammunition and commits a mere 456 soldiers.
The security measures are therefore stringent. Security officers have worked for days to define all the maneuvering, establish precautionary measures and take into account all the risks. This explains why 120 more people roam the land as a security personnel.
For a novice, the combat zone might seem strange on a huge surface area, We can find here and there small groups of soldiers camouflaged, well concealed, while on their sides to keep colleagues dressed in jackets or fluorescent a red flag. In the distance we hear the muffled roar of mortars and machine guns firing.
"The red flags are next to each item of shooting, the lieutenant colonel says Nico Schiepers, assistant security officer. We practice tactically, it is not always easy to determine precisely where the military groups. And as the distances are very extensive, the red flag is a good indicator of their presence. Our colleagues in fluorescent jackets monitor progress and ensure that each tactic complies with safety regulations. '
At the entrance of the shooting, an ambulance stands ready in case of problems. Helicopter A-109 in medical settings remains on standby while the colleagues of the "Medic" is carried out even at a disposal order to be prepared for the worst.
The day ended without incident and the exercise went very well - all this is due to the excellent preparation. "If everybody follows what has been agreed, this poses no problem," said Adjutant. Proof!

Progress in difficult terrain
The march is a big part of the training program of paratroopers. A specific exercise expects all companies to the Immediate Reaction Capabillity, paracommando regiment: the increase in difficult terrain.
During 72 hours, the paratroopers are on course for Norway, with all their gear, to defy nature. The first day, they must complete 21 km in difficult terrain, 16 second and 10 the next day. This is not a Sunday stroll: with a backpack of 20 pounds and only a map and a GPS to navigate, the slightest mistake is a detour of several miles. The evening, soldiers sleep in their small tents placed on bivouacs.
On the second day, a formidable obstacle stands: zip line across the ravine formed by a winding river of ice water. Both strings were arranged by the Commando Training Centre at the beginning of the year. The military docks by a pulley with his equipment, then moves away from the rock to slide down the other side.
Since the ground is plowed in the last few weeks, most shrubs are still in bud. But the harsh wind that sweeps the board leaves little room for anything other than brush, rocks and moss carpet, dotted here and there a bush.
In fact, if the Norwegian nature is beautiful, she is especially unforgiving. The sun can shine and then fade away 20 minutes later for a painful hailstorm. The military protecting themselves by keeping appropriate. Not too hot for walking, but not enough to cool off during the break, and effective protection against rain and snow that remains to more than 600 m above sea level. The purpose of the exercise, in collaboration with French soldiers from 35 (RAP Parachute Infantry Regiment) and the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs, is training in the procedures and techniques for Non-combatant Evacuation Operations ( NEO).
Nearly 1,000 military Belgians, mostly from the 2nd Battalion of Commandos Flawinne and 3 Battalion Paratroopers Tielen, and 150 French soldiers, supported by 4 C-130, will participate in ACTIVE TRIP. They will travel mainly by foot or by using light wheeled vehicles

Led by the Immediate Reaction Capability (IRC - Para-Commando Regiment), this exercise will also see the participation of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The recent security crisis born of the earthquake in Haiti has highlighted the importance of coordination between the FPS Foreign Affairs and Defense during such a crisis. To gain experience in the field, a team composed of staff from both departments will participate actively in the consolidation of expatriates (about 450 civilians), reception and sorting of these before their evacuation by road or by air on board four C-130 Defence Belgian and a French C-160.
All the Space Police Commandos released in the theme. The helmets are a nice, new idea, but they sit too much on top of the head and cover up the mouth. Also, I literally booed the Undercover Cruiser Commando when I realized he didn't come with air-tanks. Other than that, these guys are pretty nice.
Located in moorland beside the A82 trunk road, 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Spean Bridge, is the Commando Memorial. This 5.1m (17-foot) high memorial was designed by Scott Sutherland, of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art (Dundee) and unveiled by HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother (1900 - 2002) on 12th September 1952. The three soldiers which comprise the memorial look out from their plinth over Leanachan Forest to the peaks of Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis. It commemorates the elite force known as the 'Commandos', which was set up in 1940 on the orders of Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965) to harry the axis forces and regain the initiative on the part of Britain. The force trained in the area around this monument, with their Training Centre at Achnacarry, 4 miles (6 km) to the northwest.
The plinth of the memorial records the Commando's motto United We Conquer and a plaque states: "In Memory of the Officers and men of the Commandos who died in the Second World War 1939 - 1945. This Country was their Training Ground."
A further plaque was added to the memorial on the occasion of the Freedom of Lochaber being conferred on the Commando Association on the 18th November, 1993. The plaque reads as follows:

In the summer of 1940 when Britain's fortunes in World War II were at their lowest ebb and an enemy invasion was threatened, Winston Churchill boldly ordered the raising of an elite force to raid the enemy-held coastline of Europe and regain the initiative.
The new units, which initially consisted of volunteers from the regiments and corps of the British Army, were called 'Commandos'.
Within weeks they were in action in Europe later in the Middle East and the Far East. During the next five years they fought in every theatre of war with such success that the word 'Commando' became feared by the enemy - yet respected by friendly forces.
In 1942 the Commando Basic Training Centre was established in the Scottish Highlands at Achnacarry. There potential Commando soldiers (who by then came from not only the British Army but also the Royal marines and the Allied Armies) underwent their tough and purposeful training. Only those who successfully completed all the course were accepted and privileged to wear the famous Green Beret. This distinctive head-dress was acknowledged as the hallmark of the highest standards of military training, self-discipline, physical endurance, initiative, bravery and courage whilst under their simple motto United We Conquer a comradeship beyond literary description was born, fostered and flourished.
For their valour in action the Commandos earned thirty-eight battle honours and many awards including eight Victoria Crosses, but many made the supreme sacrifice, no fewer than 1,700 Commando soldiers lost their lives and others were seriously wounded. It was a record that prompted Winston Churchill to pay the following tribute to the Commandos: "We may feel sure that nothing of which we have any knowledge or record has ever been done by mortal men which surpasses their feats of arms. Truly we may say of them when shall their glory fade."

For some unknown reason I never had the Action Man commando set as a kid. Fixed that with ebay this year and this unshaven, greying (another great job from the good folk at Flocktastic) 40th anniversay Action Man gets to wear a vintage outfit (and extra bits) as he joins up with 1/6th Commando.
Proud to be British: Back Home and safe.
Not the same for every one due to the high losses 40 Commando suffered since April 2010 trying to make the world a better place.
We all need to remember those that didn’t come home to their loved ones and the void and distress that has been left within those families.
We also need to remember the guys that suffered life changing injuries and the consequence it will have within these families.
We were lucky: Dave came back in one piece.

Today I did a awesome modification to a BrickArms M4 Carbine: by cutting the barrel in half and cutting off the rail/handle, I created a "Commando", one of the assault rifles featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops, and it is definetly one of my Top 10 favorite Black Ops weapons. Plus, my favorite character, Frank Woods, is almost always seen wielding this gun, usually with an ACOG scope.

3rd March - Royal Marine Commando Boat Operators navigating their Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel on the harsh Arctic waters of Norway.
Shore Reconnaissance Troop and Special Observers from 148 Battery, both of which are from Surveillance and Reconnaissance Squadron (SRS), 30 Commando, worked with German U-Boat 35 S185, a type 212A Submarine, as part of Exercise Cold Response 26.
SRS boarded the German U-boat using an Inflatable Raiding Craft and stowing all their kit before diving below the surface.
Once in position, they disembarked the boat under the guise of night to establish an observation post to allow 148 Battery to confirm a target to a partner force ship to execute naval fires.
The UK and Norway have committed to stepping up their joint military partnership in the Arctic, as NATO allies look to strengthen security across the region against threats from Russia.
