Miniature warriors from Families across 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, assembled to face Soldiers of the 41st Engineer Battalion during the Commando brigade's second "Nerf Wars" match held inside a makeshift battlefield configured throughout the Magrath Sports Complex basketball court, April 10, 2019, at Fort Drum, New York. Foam darts littered the gym floor during the "just for fun" event as opposing forces fueled by popcorn and cotton candy engaged in a play firefight.

The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in Scotland, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge village, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it has become one of Scotland's best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr.
The Sea King is nearing the end of its long and distinguished Royal Navy career. The opportunity to photograph them as much as possible at this year's Air Day was too good to refuse. Here's hoping that the Commando Assault as we know it survives, when the Merlins arrive.
The Afghan Commandos are trained in reconnaissance and special operations. They provide support to each region of Afghanistan with commando kandak assigned to the corps throughout the country.
during a mountain training trip in 2007 we took a day to go up to spean bridge and visit the memorial. for us as royal marines its a special place.

Remarks/comments:
This area was a training ground for the Commandos during WWII. It was unveiled in 1952. Like much of Scotland, it is an area of forest and mountains. The three soldiers on the monument are looking towards the peak of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.
I should have pictured the cammo crayon this set came with.
An outfit I remember seeing and wanting when I was a child but didn't get.
Taken at the Commando Monument. Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, is just left of the sun.
