100% Painted
Took me a little over an hour to paint all those tally marks on the helmet.
If you favorite, please comment.
Fancied some drybrushing and it came out pretty well! Sadly, the pic begs to differ :( Also because of this pic (www.flickr.com/photos/kalcustoms/8946680812/) so this is kind of for you, KalSkirata ;)
Comments and favourites are always much appreciated ;)
Enjoy!

Never forget to check the ceiling when clearing a room. A rookie mistake this Cobra Trooper won’t make a second time.

Replacing an earlier scanned slide with a better version 30-Mar-15, plus DeNoise AI 05-Jan-23.
Originally delivered to the US Army Air Force serialled 42-101077 in Sep-44, it was transferred to the US Navy on delIvery as Bua39573. It was withdrawn from use and stored in late 1946.
It surfaced again 10 years later when it was bought by Aaxico Inc in 1956 as N10427 and leased to Seaboard & Western Airlines in Aug-56. Seaboard bought it in May-57 and they were renamed Seaboard World Airlines in Apr-61.
The aircraft was based in Germany and operated cargo services for Lufthansa, it was stored at Frankfurt in 1970. It was sold to 'Marshall M Landy' in May-71, then to Aircraft Modifications Inc in 1972 and leased to 'Joanne Fashions' in 1973.
It was written off when it crashed on approach to Pereira, Colombia in Feb-73 after an engine failure.
'Joanne Fashions' and crashing in Colombia has drug running written all over it...
Ok, when I said I was going to take a break what I really meant was I need some new material and some new shots to work on. Thought I'd head over to Roy Bridge today and sure enough, the weather was dull, grey and promised nothing. A couple of half hearted dismal shots of Loch Ness and a walk around Inverroy and headed home about half three with the light rapidly fading. Just outside of Spean Bridge a glance over to the left and the sun gave us a fleeting show of magic! Just before this I'd commented how it really hadn't been worth the journey...

Circa 1984. I did not take this photo because I am in the photo riding my 1972 Norton Commando ‘Fastback’ model. The image is a scan off of a print enlargement.
I don’t exactly remember the event but I believe it may have been at an ‘All British’ (machinery, not people) ride in Castaic, California near Lake Hughes Road.
I wish I could remember with certainty who took this photo. The photographer was a friend to whom I managed to wave. A few weeks later he presented me with this photo. It’s one of the very few I have of myself with any of my motorcycles of which I had a peak of four at one time. They were two Nortons, a Velocette and a BMW.
Robert's Norton 850 Commando At Bushy Park on 1 July 2013. This is a medium format version of an image I did with a 35mm Contaflex SLR at the same time, which you can find here: www.flickr.com/photos/43224475@N08/37206848154/in/datetaken/
Apart from the obvious comparisons between the formats, the point that struck me comparing both, was how a similar camera location in the same setting shooting the same subject looks somewhat different, due to the viewfinders used on each camera and the resulting height difference.

I loved that 1973 Jeep Commando with the 304 cu. inch engine. I learned how to work on cars because it broke down so much.
I wrote about this pic on my blog at www.imakethings.com/2007/03/30/1973-jeep-commando/
A Rebel Commando is a Rebel Trooper trained for special forces operations. Rebel Commandos fought in the Battle of Endor. As well trained soldiers, Rebel Commandos were often used for scouting and demolition missions. The commandos on Endor were a special 12-man team with members from all seven Regiments of the Alliance Special Forces, they helped out Princess Leia, Chewbacca and Han Solo blow up the shield generator to the Death Star II.
An incredible figure, made by the Red Laser.
Thanks goes out to 00zxcvb, for helping me out with these customs!

Small teams of Royal Marines are conducting discreet Reconnaissance exercises in freezing conditions deep inside the Arctic Circle.
A small team from the Surveillance Reconnaissance Squadron of 30 Commando Information Exploitation Group landed in small inflatable boats to conduct a technical reconnaissance mission on the shores of an Arctic fjord.
The Squadron’s Shore Reconnaissance Team carried out a survey of the area, studying the surroundings to establish a beachhead for amphibious forces to crash ashore and attack enemy positions.
This essential training ensures the specialist team are razor sharp for operations, no matter how extreme the environment.
Their role is to ensure that amphibious forces are able to access coastlines, establishing the best points of access and feeding back vital information on the terrain.

My long awaited BF order arrived today, so I could finally make this fig.
The Royal Marines were formed in the mid 1700s as an infantry branch of the British Navy. Nowadays, they are an elite and highly specialised light infantry unit of commandos who deploy regularly alongside the British Army. The Royal Marines are one of the most elite regiments in the British Armed Forces, on par with the Parachute Regiment and just below the SAS and SBS.
