2024 Change of Command Ceremony – Commander, 5th Canadian Division
In a ceremony held on June 22, 2024 at Royal Artillery Park in Halifax, N.S., Brigadier-General Stéphane Masson relinquished command of 5th Canadian Division to incoming Commander, Brigadier-General Mark Parsons.
The ceremony also included the appointment of Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Mario Grondin to Division Sergeant Major (DSM), assuming the role from outgoing DSM Chief Warrant Officer Mark von Kalben.

Lors d’une cérémonie tenue le 22 juin 2024 au Royal Artillery Park à Halifax, en Nouvelle-Écosse, le brigadier-général Stéphane Masson a cédé le commandement de la 5e Division du Canada au nouveau commandant, le brigadier-général Mark Parsons.
Durant la cérémonie, l’adjudant-chef (Adjuc) Mario Grondin a également été nommé sergent-major de la Division (SMD), prenant ainsi la relève de l’Adjuc Mark von Kalben, SMD sortant.

During the competition, Soldiers are tested both physically and mentally in events that include the Army Physical Fitness Test, land navigation, obstacle course, ruck marching, weapon qualification, Army Warrior Tasks, reflexive fire, written exams and the Army appearance board. This is the second time the event has been held at Ft. Knox. The competition, hosted by U.S. Army Cadet Command runs from October 24th through 27th and brought in nearly 300 teams built from around 3,900 Cadets from 220+ schools across the nation and from as far away as Guam. Elite Junior ROTC Students competed to be among the best in the nation.
JROTC is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world, helping them maximize their potential in pursuing their goals.
