Fort Buchanan, PR- Personnel from the US Army Recruiting Command-Puerto Rico Activity and the 1st Mission Support Command (1st MSC) conducted a coordination meeting at the command’s headquarters, where they discussed ways to collaborate in the process of assessing soldiers in the reserve ranks.
“The Army Reserve in Puerto Rico is the biggest customer of the recruiters” commented Maj. Luis Caraballo, Officer in Charge (OIC) for the US Army Recruiting Command-Puerto Rico Activity
“This training event provides us the opportunity to identify those issues or problems that the recruiters sometimes have with the reserve units, at the same time the reserve units can provide us with input of what they need and how we can support them better”, added Caraballo.
The recruiters were briefed by Brig. Gen. Fernando Fernández, Commanding General of the 1st MSC, who explained important details about the command’s units as well as the different positions that the US Army Reserve-Puerto Rico has to offer.
In the event, local recruiters also exchanged ideas with Command Sgt. Maj. René Rivera about obstacles they have encountered while recruiting soldiers for the reserve and how to engage these situations.
The US Army Recruiting Command-Puerto Rico Activity has two companies, one in Aguadilla and one in San Juan, with a total of sixteen recruiting offices, including one in St. Thomas and one in St. Croix.

Beneath the frost-laden skies and amidst the pristine white of winter, a commander rides with purpose. The estate stands as a testament to tradition, while the horse carries the weight of discipline and duty. In this harmony of nature and authority, one is reminded that leadership knows no season—it is steadfast and unwavering.
“Through snow and silence, the resolve of a leader never falters.”
