I've enhanced this mock tortoiseshell comb, upcycled from Goodwill, with golden craft wire wrapping beads, sequins and buttons.

Forest colors of green, gold and brown make this the perfect accessory to a elf costume, bridal wear, or other nature-evoking dress event. It can be worn on the side, or at the top of the head, giving a mini-tiara effect.

The longest wire sections stand out about 2 inches, or 5 cm, over the comb, which is about 2 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches. The wire is stiff enough to stand on its own, but still flexible enough for you to bend with your fingers to get the perfect effect.

I bought combs for making fleece spinnable. I like spinning from combed top better than I like spinning carded fiber. I tested the combs out on some of my fiber. Left to right are bits of Angelica, Rocky, Celeste, Jacob, and Monique.
