A species I absolutely loved spending time with in Kununurra - the fabulous Comb-crested Jacana! Those feet & their lily-walking abilities makes for a wonderful photographic opportunity.
Titled “The James White”.
The surrounding of the Combs Lake, a reservoir constructed in 1794 as a feeder for the Peak Forest Canal.
These on the southern shore of Buttermere :-)

Sure, the way the bud is flowering is pretty enough, but it is the shape of these leaves and branches that intrigued me. They almost look like nature's version of a comb. I have a volunteer tree just starting in my yard that is similar.
Of course she expected to find lots of seashells on the beach…but she NEVER thought she would find a fancy pearl necklace!
