Lines and dots.

All inconspicuous and at the same time quite clear.

Large, stocky bunting. On breeding males, the combination of a black head, a bright yellow collar, yellow underparts, and rusty-brown back is unmistakable. The black on the face of nonbreeding males is restricted to the patch around the eyes forming a “bandit’s mask.” Female is plain brown overall with a pale yellowish wash on the vent and traces of yellow on the rump. Extremely similar to female Red-headed Bunting; best to use a combination of various details to separate the two, with the Red-headed Bunting having a yellower rump and belly, a more noticeably streaked crown, and a bulkier bill than Black-headed Bunting. Breeds in open forests, edges, and patchily planted areas like orchards and gardens. Winters in farmland. Song is a rather lacklustre series of buzzy notes. Calls are varied and include sparrowlike chirps and high thin “tseep’s.” (eBird)

We saw these a number of times during our travels. They became one of the birds whose song I recognized because we heard them so often.

The combination of golden light and wooden fencing helped to create a western look to this image. Add to that a white streak in the sky in the form of a cloud, and balance was achieved. I wanted to find the correct angle that would line up the fence with the ridge. That had me fumbling about while standing on an uneven drop off.

Alone on this ridge, there was plenty of time to work uninterrupted. Only the golden light served as my hour glass. Like the sands that would flow through the apex, light too would continue to change, until absent.

In Venice, the combination of magnificent architecture, bright colors, the gentle murmur of the water and the presence of gondolas create a magical and unforgettable environment.

CN 500 is backing their new (to this yard) caboose to the shop track. With previous caboose CN 79834 out of commission, the Pointe St-Charles Switcher is now using GTW 79047 for their shoving moves. Also a fairly new addition to this job is BNSF 2302. Trailing is CN 4724, which has a CN noodle underneath the zebra stripes on its long hood.

After posting lots of animals, I went back to the archives and found some pix from my days of traveling to Kansas to visit my grandbaby. I saw lots of rustic old barns and nice landscapes there. It's a pretty place!

A combination of sun and hail today in the Hope Valley. Every time a freight passed I had the interim dark cloud.

Not really managed a decent shot of this loco showing off the livery so opted for this location.

It's worth noting that over the period of full lockdown there have been engineering works in the Edale area. Part of these works appears to be the severance of the siding on the Manchester bound side.

A combination of three pictures taken from the same spot but put together to form something different. I couldn't resist putting the girl her umbrella and friend in the shot when I saw them walking towards the headland to the right and looking out to sea. The seagulls just kept hovering beside me with the updraft.

A picture that I took while on a roadtrip through Utah. The BW conversion brought out a ton of contrast and detail, making everything look more like seascape than the dry shrub-steppe that it really was.

A combination house, inn and resort, the House on the Rock was originally built as a private residence by Alex Jordan Jr. Designed in the style of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the house and grounds were continually expanded in size over a period of several decades and opened to the public in 1959. Areas are themed around early American heritage, music, and Christmas. Jordan added more antiques and other memorabilia continually spreading them around the house. In 1981 a large indoor carousel opened.

The most iconic architectural element came in 1985 when the Infinity Room opened. Supported by a triangular shaped steel truss, the long corridor is 218 feet / 66 meters long and has over 3,000 small windows on the sides. A large rectangular window hole in the floor is located near the end of the structure.129

ライトアップされた仏像とロープウェイの組み合わせは付加価値を生んでいるかどうかは意見が分かれことかと思いますがシュールであることは間違い無いようです。

Whether the combination of the illuminated Buddha statue and the ropeway creates added value may be controversial, but it definitely seems surreal.

FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBINATION...

The w-e upon us, I'll be working, pfft, if you can call it that?

Doing what you love??? Making images?

Again somebody wrote to me how, on a stressful day, they open my latest upload, they feel uplifted and positive... the world becomes a better place... I'm only quoting.

Wow, that is achieving my goal! All I want...

I am happy! ¡Olé!'

Fuchsia flowers, some of the last from the garden, the were dangling precariously in the strong wind… I took pity on them lol.

So delicate and pretty and in a lovely colour-combinations!

From a dark pink to a dusky pink.

Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees.

The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier.

He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.

The Fuchsia flower has four long, slender sepals and four shorter, broader petals; in many species the sepals are bright red and the petals purple (colours that attract the hummingbirds that pollinate them), but the colours can vary from white to dark red, purple-blue, and orange...

Thank you for your time and comments, greatly appreciated, M, (*_*)

The combination of ships in this shot made me think of society and class structure. My degree is in Sociology/Economics so I have always been fascinated with that topic. It would appear that the working class ships in the background cluster while prepped to work through another day. The foreground vessel on the other hand appears more sporty and perhaps at the ready to take it's occupant to a different kind of work. Maybe I read too much into my shots, but it is fun to see a story unfold.

Unusual combination of motive power from ÖBB as Taurus 1216018, 1016022 and Hercules 2016044 - all under power - take a short intermodal train up towards Brennero, seen here passing Muhlbachl. The trio would return downhill an hour or two later. having handed over their train to Italian traction.

Throughout the week, ÖBB did seem to be short of motive power with swaps at Innsbruck on the Venice/Verona - Munchen RJ sets so it was rather a surprise to see a railjet 1216 being used for a freight train.

The combination of the beach, the sea and a long row of stone blocks with a green glow of seaweed is a special phenomenon. Add to that some rain and the mysticism will blow towards you in a storm of toughts cause the beach of Scheveningen is such a pearl of the world . At high tide, everyone can enjoy a theater performance of nature with the water as the top actor and a dream decor in the background. During that impressive performance you can smell the sent of the sea while standing in the fine sand where the shells and seaweed keep changing places due to the elusive wind.

This is a combination of two images to get this effect. I just couldn't get the dramatic effect I wanted with what I had shot so I borrowed the sunset from another image and combined the two images.

Crissey is the surname of one William L., who owned the property in the middle part of the 20th century. The term Field has a dual meaning both for the flowers grown in his extensive flower fields and the airfield utilized on the land prior to being acquired by the state park system.

Mr. Crissey moved to Brookings with his wife in 1928, at the time home to about 250 residents. Soon after, the Easter lily was added to his floral inventory. Crissey pioneered the commercial sale of this flower for which the small coastal community of Brookings was later renowned.

A combination of a high tide and strong wind created big waves which crashed onto the 'rock reinforced' edge of the river this afternoon. We went to the park near the river this afternoon with the grandchildren but it soon lost it's attraction when they saw the waves. They had heaps of fun running to avoid getting splashed as the extra big ones crashed on the rocks.

These two were taken a bit later so the sky is darker and, because the wind had dropped a bit, the waves weren't as big

The ideal combination: the sun be able to shine during sunset when there are clouds. In this case, a thunderstorm.
