You gotta have a cute little D-type after all, so why not include the street rod they made from D-type bits? Toss in a Talbot-Lago and a few other cool rides and you're on your way.

The hôtel de la Marine (also known as the hôtel du Garde-Meuble) is an historic building located on place de la Concorde in Paris, to the east of rue Royale. It was designed and built between 1757 and 1774 by the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel, on the newly created square first called Place Louis XV. The identical building to its west, constructed at the same time, now houses the hôtel de Crillon and the Automobile Club of France.
The Hôtel de la Marine was originally the home of the royal Garde-Meuble, the office managing the furnishing of all royal properties. Following the French Revolution it became the Ministry of the French Navy, which occupied it until 2015. It was entirely renovated between 2015 and 2021.
It now displays the restored 18th century apartments of Marc-Antoine Thierry de Ville-d'Avray, the King's Intendant of the Garde-Meuble, as well the salons and chambers later used by the French Navy.
A separate part displays the Al Thani Collection presenting international and inter-cultural works of art from the collection of Sheik Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani.

Part of Spike's collection, photographed at the owner's home on May 24, 2013. This collector in southeast Michigan has roughly a score of cars in his collection. This is one of my favorites.
I was honored to have my flickr contacts Granttt73, ROGERIOMACHADO and Chelsea_Dale with me for this visit.

The Wallace has a fine collection of majolica (or maiolica), Italian tin-glazed and painted earthenware. This lovely dish, which features women bathing, was made by the studio of Georgio Andreoli, with three different artists having contributed to the whole scene. Mind you, there seem to be 15 women and I can only see one bar of soap...
The collection is coming together nicely. The blue with yellow clip is the newest addition. I've been hunting it for a long time.
So now that I've gotten a few more new amiibo, I think it's time to do another collection update! So I will go down the list of amiibo and their nicknames. Note that this will be in order of my favorite characters, not order that I got them.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: The first two weeks of the 2016 flea market season, I acquired two lots of Barbies. Both of these lots previous owners seemed to have an affinity for wedding theme dolls and outfits. I found several bridal dolls and fashion packs in both lots. If it weren't for the dates on these photos, I'd confuse which lot I got which outfit from. This particular dress came from the "Ken Suitcase lot." It is one of the more unique bridal outfits I've seen for a Barbie doll. I like that it isn't long sleeved for a change. Most of my other wedding gowns all seem to have long sleeves, which is ravishing no doubt, but difficult to put on over dolls with rings in their hands. While this dress doesn't match the same high quality that some of my other wedding gowns were made with, its very cute, and I'm happy to have it as part of my collection.

It's a strange experience buying someone else's collection - something of a guilty sensation in reaping the benefits of another person's years-long effort. This collection of matchbook covers does have a good home now. There are two boxes of them: a cigar box and an old candy box. There are many wonderful examples: 5-cent Dr. Pepper, Pep Boys, Wrigley's Gum, Havana Cigars, 1939 World's Fair, Tums, Bromo Seltzer and lots of gas stations, restaurants and booze. Hours of quiet entertainment. Who needs cable television? Digital photo. (2008)
