Nu-Earth: a planet ravaged by war, its atmosphere poisoned by chemical weapons. In this battle ground between the Norts and the Southers only the Genetic Infantrymen can survive. The Rogue Trooper is one such soldier, created by the Southers to be able to thrive in Nu-Earth’s hostile and toxic environment. He is the sole surviving GI of the military disaster known as the Quartz Zone Massacre and now he hunts the traitorous Souther General who caused it. With him are the memory implants of three of his dead comrades, Helm, Gunnar and Bagman, who are installed in his helmet, rifle and bag, and who through their integration with his equipment, offer Rogue a further edge over his Nort enemies.
Rogue Trooper was created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons and first appeared in the British Science Fiction comic 2000AD (home of Judge Dredd). The series was hailed for its excellent artwork thanks to the craftsmanship of Gibbons and other artists such as Cam Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Brett Ewins. The character now belongs to game developers, Rebellion.

You may be able to tell that this is a little different to my usual MOCs, but I was encouraged to make it by the competition over at the Lego War Group. Anyway, it’s always good to step outside of one’s comfort zone every once in a while, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the Rogue Trooper.

A shot of the British Library, taken on my way to May's London Flickr Group Photowalk. The red brickwork looks great against the deep blue (polarised....) summer sky.

From Wikipedia, "The new library was designed specially for the purpose by the architect Colin St John Wilson in collaboration with his wife MJ Long, who came up with the plan that was subsequently developed and built. Facing Euston Road is a large piazza that includes pieces of public art, such as large sculptures by Eduardo Paolozzi (a bronze statue based on William Blake's study of Isaac Newton) and Antony Gormley. It was the largest public building constructed in the United Kingdom in the 20th century.
In the middle of the building is a six-storey glass tower inspired by a similar structure in the Beinecke Library, containing the King's Library with 65,000 printed volumes along with other pamphlets, manuscripts and maps collected by King George III between 1763 and 1820. In December 2009 a new storage building at Boston Spa was opened by Rosie Winterton. The new facility, costing £26 million, has a capacity for seven million items, stored in more than 140,000 bar-coded containers and which are retrieved by robots from the 162.7 miles of temperature and humidity-controlled storage space."

Colin Wilson played 11 seasons in the NHL (8 for my Nashville Predators & 3 for the Colorado Avalanche) totaling 632 games played, 113 goals, and 173 assists. His father played in the NHL and his grandfather played briefly in the NHL only to become team doctor for the Winnipeg Jets. Wilson also won silver & gold medals for the U.S.A. U-18 Team in the Under-18 World Championships. However, this post/photograph/text is not about Colin and his NHL career, accomplishments, or amateur career...it is about the bravery of Colin to recently tell a story that most (if not all) didn't know. Colin struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol for many years due to many things in his life despite the fact that, to many, he would appear to have it all...talent, family, professional hockey career and all that comes with it, money, etc...but the reality is that addiction can take over anyone's life and not just those who are poor, or of a certain ethnicity, or grow up in certain neighborhoods. If you don't believe that, then believe me because I've lived it, witnessed it first hand, and continue to live with it in my family to this day. It is real and it doesn't play favorites...so if you have or know someone who has addiction problems, talk to someone or to them, get some help, do something about it but do not give up or give in! It is beatable!!
For more information on Colin Wilson's story, the following link is to an article in The Players Tribune from October 25, 2021 (just over a week ago) where he tells his full story...please read:

Thank you Colin for your years as a Predator! Thank you for telling your story! But, most of all, thank you for putting yourself out there for others to see as inspiration to get the help that they need!!

I just wanted to share a better shot of my version of 2000AD's Rogue Trooper, as shown in my last MOC, The Rogue Trooper Strikes.
It's probably the least 'pure' minifig I've ever created, but needs must as the Lego Company just don't produce the right items for this character.
So the custom items are:
Helmet and "u" clip thing from BrickArms,
Torso from customBricks, and
Head from Penzora
Now that I have the pieces, I'm sure I'll be building further Rogue Trooper themed MOCs in the future.

The name "Lloigor" originally came from an August Derleth story, and applied to a typical betentacled Elder God. The name was dropped until 1969, when Colin Wilson wrote "The Return of the Lloigor," and redefined the name.
The Lloigor are a species of alien energy beings from the Andromeda galaxy. They can possess people or take nearly any form, but most often prefer to appear as giant reptilian monstrosities - in fact, they are the source of many of our legends about dragons. But when given free reign, Lloigor are more monstrous than any dragon, and serve the will of the dreaded Ghatanathoa, spawn of Cthulhu.
This is the only college textbook I still have. After 50 years, it is more relevant than ever. These days I read a few pages and have to ruminate for a week! Reading this may help if you've ever wondered why people never look up from their "smartphones" anymore. Originally published in 1956.
The dreaded spawn of Cthulhu, Ghatanothoa is so terrible that mearly the sight of it will shrivel mortal man into a mummified husk. Ghatanothoa is now imprisoned beneath a mountain, but his Lloigor servants still permeate the world, spreading the horrific influence of their master.
Helena Blavatsky was a 19th century medium, author, founder of the Theosophical Society. She leaves an ambiguous legacy; she was apparently caught forging letters from "ascended masters" which would appear in a cabinet whose back opened up into her bedroom. She was was an early medicinal marijuana user, taking them for menstrual cramps.
I recently retouched this painting after reading that she had "piercing blue eyes" and I added a few tweaks while I was at it. The painting is based on a public domain black and white photo reproduced in Colin Wilson's "The Occult, a History," among other places.
It is available on Artfinder

The 1968 drum extension to the Liverpool Playhouse at night. Designed by Colin Wilson it alleviated the chronic overcrowding of the Playhouse's original foyers and bars. The Playhouse has a complex history, dating from 1866, when the Star Music Hall opened on the site of a former concert hall. It was designed by Edward Davies. In 1898 Harry Percival was responsible for a complete reconstruction of the auditorium, the form of which survives, but the box arrangement and plasterwork is the work of Stanley Adshead in 1911, as is the stalls bar and foyer which was excavated below the level of the floor. Then in 1968, to the design of Hall, Donaghue & Wilson with Ken Martin, a new box office, foyer and bars were created in a modern extension. Grade 2* listed.
