A beautiful clear and cold March morning

I'm still sorting through pics from last fall. For any of my contacts that haven't been to Maroon Bells in Colorado this is the view when you look the other direction.

A first sure sing that shows that summer is over: starlings are moving to south above misty fields...

We are having a few cold days, minus 7,5 C today.

It makes the mornings so wonderful.

A lovely sunny morning yesterday, so a great day for taking Marnie and my camera here, just a little further away from home yesterday (only about 4 miles away by road). Here we are, looking out across Longmoor Pool in Sutton Park. The sun was so very welcome, plus the beautiful blue sky. We like it there, especially when the sun's shining ! No mud, as it was so cold the ground was frozen. This made me believe again, that we may all really LIVE ... somewhere, some time, again. Tell the ones you love that you love them... today.

I was set up for a long exposure in the dim predawn and foggy light before sunrise when a small flock of mergansers splashed down to my left. From there, they began a back and forth across the lake in front of me, which spoiled the lovely flat water reflections with their wakes. After a couple of blurry blob duck images on my part, I finally clued in to dramatically increase the ISO and see what would happen with this persistent dawn patrol. The result here is cropped to about half the original image. The photobombers were interesting to watch as periodically, one would dive and the rest would immediately follow. They'd all pop up together, still in line and going in the same direction, and I wondered if they directing small fish and feeding cooperatively.

Actually this was taken on Monday and perhaps I'm a bit late to post for Happy Fence Friday so...call it whatever you like!
