The ruins of Bynack Lodge, and old and long abandoned hunting lodge in the Scottish Highlands, lies in a remote part of the Cairngorm Mountains. Lit by a wek Autumn sun it's time to leave and carry on down Bynack Burn to try to find the Falls of Tarf.
I thought I'd make a change from posting beach shots, so this is a shot from earlier in the year, when we actually had a smattering of snow. It was really cold in the fierce winds on top of Pen y Fan. I always love the way these ridges line up, Cold and blue is a track by Redlands Palomino Company, and is perfect for this winter shot

At Surtesjön which was covered by both the snow and ice we found little running water, so we sat down on the edge and take some photos. Things went well at first, but in the end I slipped and shoes were quickly filled with ice cold water

The snake shown here (with a bit of blue tint added for effect) is an Aruba Island Rattlesnake, a venomous pitviper species found only on the Caribbean island of Aruba, off the coast of Venezuela. These animals are critically endangered, and are the subject of cooperative zoo breeding programs. This one was photographed at the Detroit Zoo.

Yup it’s decaying flowers time again, what else would you expected this time of year from me? It’s been pretty cold here in S Wales, but not as cold as Scotland and northern parts of the UK. Just thankful to be able to grab some time with the camera today and catch some interest in the garden. Thanks, for stopping
For the past few days the temperature has been low around here. Last night it dropped below 0 C.
