Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out exactly how to approach one of the most iconic and popular objects in the ceramic world. I've seen a few features in my exploration of various piggy banks, and have been slowly integrating them into my own. This little one is in the collection of a really awesome painter, Katheryn Buryos. #animal #animalbank #bank #coinbank #piggybank #clay #ceramic #stoneware #pottery #sculpture #handmade #wheel #wheelthrown #pig #piglet #piggy #boar #hog #spot #functional #claytoy #toy

It's interesting that not only I am a lefty, I tend to flip numbers and letters randomly as a toddler.
This is a quaint vintage ceramic swear jar, or 'Cuss Box' coin bank with an Appalachian hillbilly motif that was made in Japan. This penny bank is molded like a cross cut section of pine tree with pine cones decorating it, as well as the following poem:
Cuss Box
Cussin ain't the nicest thing
And friends fer you it shore don't bring
But, if you really gotta sayem
Heres the way you hafta payem!
This could be an effective part of some people's economic improvement plan!
Banpresto Japanese Can Can Club coin bank tins that were originally prizes in Japanese arcades. These particular banks are the two different Mercury banks, one of which is a metalic version.
There are more shots of the Banpresto Can Can Club coin banks in the following & previous photos.
There's a full set of the regular banks and then another set which features the metalic versions of the Sailormoon/Chibi Moon and Mercury banks.
The metalic banks also have metalic lids (where the coin slots are). And these do have removable lids so the banks do not have to be destroyed to access the treasures inside. :D
All banks have Luna & Artemis on the other side.
These banks are a bit dusty from storage but will clean up nicely though also noted that they are about 15 years old now. :)

I've only ever seen foxes around downtown Annapolis, Maryland, particularly one named Cinnabar. Even though I know that they can be found all over, I feel a sense of awe, grace, and admiration of their presence particularly in a city. It seems like many larger cities go to great lengths to extract these animals out of daily existence in order to recreate nature in a more convenient fashion. So, when I see such animals, I'm struck by their ability to adapt and thrive to radically changing environments that we impose on them. #animal #animalbank #bank #coinbank #piggybank #clay #ceramic #stoneware #pottery #sculpture #handmade #wheel #wheelthrown #red #fox #trickster #functional #claytoy #toy

Once upon a time there were five invaders sneaked into our amazing world.
But unfortunately their (space)ship was crashed and the five was missing.
So many year after that...some was found.
