A section of the Coeur d'Alene Resort's Marina on a cloudy early morning.
The Resort is an international resort on the north end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Popular all seasons for many sports and relaxation. Challenging for golfers with it's floating 14th green. The place to stay when in north Idaho.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
A small section of the Coeur d'Alene Resort's Marina. The blue stall covers complimented the stormy blue skies above nicely.
Bet most of these boats are out today on this record-setting hot day (105) looking for some heat relief.
Coeur d'Alene is also hosting an Ironman contest today. Swimming 2.2 miles, biking 112 miles then running a 26K marathon is challenging enough, but hard to imagine at these temps. Amazing athletes.
Hope your Sunday is comfy and cool. Enjoy!
A popular north Idaho view: Coeur d'Alene Lake's Beauty Bay.
That's the I-90 freeway bridge in the distance.
Glad I live so close to such beauty (yet I rarely shoot local, generally heading elsewhere to image hunt). ?
Have a wonderful Wednesday.
A view of Coeur d'Alene lake from Tubbs Hill. A favorite local place to get away and recharge.
Tubbs Hill consists of over 120 acres and is bordered by Lake Coeur d’Alene on the west, south and east sides. There are several miles of hiking trails on the hill that provide spectacular scenery.
Coeur d’Alene Lake is the second largest lake in north Idaho. Pend Oreille Lake is larger. The lake is over 26 miles long with some 135 miles of shoreline. The lake is fed primarily by two rivers, the Coeur d’Alene River and St. Joe River, and its outlet forms the Spokane River.
Happy Friday!
Closed since 1940, this old mine still looms over Central City, Colorado. It's now a museum, open in summer.
The end of the year always brings hope for a wonderful new year for each and every one of you.
“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!” - William Arthur Ward
This is a view of Lake Coeur d'Alene in Northern Idaho less than a month ago. I suspect there is a lot more snow there now!

Have a terrific Tuesday!
Here's another one. The eagle isn't as sharp in this one and still a little tidying up to do in Photoshop but I love the colors and reflections in this one.

The Resort grounds are covered in red geraniums. Fun to walk around the boardwalk, over Tubbs Hill in the distance and the rest of the impressive grounds. The Resort has become an international destination.
Have a fabulous Friday and weekend!
In case you're wondering, yes, this is a composite. The original sky behind the eagle was, well, blah. I had taken a shot of "the silvery moon" the same day and decided to use that for the background. Then I punched it up with some textures from Lenabem-Anna and darkwood67.

Had a great day exploring north Idaho with good flickr/FB friend Len Saltiel. Thanks Len for great advice, many laughs and a most wonderful day.

Thanks for taking a look. Always appreciated!
Sure hope that everyone is staying warm and toasty through this early winter storm. We are getting hammered again but it is not near as cold as a few days ago. Lots of snow to shovel!
While out driving on some off-roads the other day I saw what looked like a small bag of garbage beside the road and then noticed that it was moving. It turned out to be about 10 California Quail huddled together against the bitter cold. I'd never even been able to get close to these birds before so it was an exciting moment. Ended up seeing about 30 - 35 of them before it was over with.
This snow is sure cutting into eagle shooting time...

No doubt thinking that it would be nice if the snow stopped so that I could get a shot of him without all of those white flakes falling from the sky.
Took the dog out for a walk and to see the eagles before heading down a snowy, icy highway for TG dinner. Certainly have never seen so many accidents happen before. The crash, belongings flying all over the highway, people running...not fun for anyone. Anyway, there were several eagles out but it was snowing so hard that the camera wanted to focus on the snowflakes instead of the birds.
Hope everyone had a great turkey day - I sure did - and thank you for all of the well wishes. See you sometime tomorrow.
