Hello !
It's always nice to see a young Robin in the garden.
Robin
Erithacus rubecula
Spideog
Redbreast, Ploughman's Bird, Ruddock
One of Ireland's top-20 most widespread garden birds.
Status: Resident
Conservation Concern: Green-listed in Ireland. The European population is regarded as Secure by BirdLife International.
Identification: Probably the most familiar garden bird - the bright orange-red breast and facial area make it unmistakable. Upperparts a uniform greyish brown, belly and lower breast greyish white. The bill is dark and pointed and the legs black. Can appear very plump and rounded, especially in cold weather when the bird fluffs out its feathers. Can be very confiding, often perching motionless close to gardening activity. Occasionally cocks tail briefly.
Call: Song a wispy, relatively slow series of notes ranging up and down the scale, becoming more rapid in parts - the notes rolling into each other. Somewhat melancholy - winter song even more so. Calls include a "tick" which is sometimes repeated to sound like an old clock being wound up. Also a plaintive, barely audible "seep".
Diet: Insects and some fruits, including apples. Readily comes to bird tables.
Breeding: Breeds throughout Ireland in many different habitats. Nest usually well-concealed in a bank, ivy or cavity in tree or wall. Sometimes chooses unusual location such as a hat or garment hanging in garden shed. Will use open-fronted nestboxes.

The common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus), ring-necked pheasant, or blue-headed pheasant, is a bird in the pheasant family (Phasianidae). The genus name comes from Latin phasianus 'pheasant'. The species name colchicus is Latin for 'of Colchis' (modern day Georgia), a country on the Black Sea where pheasants became known to Europeans.Although Phasianus was previously thought to be closely related to the genus Gallus, the genus of junglefowl and domesticated chickens, recent studies show that they are in different subfamilies, having diverged over 20 million years ago.
It is native to Asia, where it is widespread, and also the extreme southeast of Europe in the northern foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. It has been widely introduced elsewhere as a game bird. In parts of its range, mainly in places where none of its relatives occur such as in Europe, where it is naturalised, it is simply known as the "pheasant". Ring-necked pheasant is both the collective name for a number of subspecies and their intergrades that have white neck rings, and the name used for the species as a whole in North America.
It is a well-known gamebird, among those of more than regional importance perhaps the most widespread and ancient one in the whole world. The common pheasant is one of the world's most hunted birds;[5] it has been introduced for that purpose to many regions, and is also common on game farms where it is commercially bred. The ring-necked subspecies group in particular are commonly bred and were introduced to many parts of the world; the game farm stock, though no distinct breeds have been developed yet, can be considered semi-domesticated. The ring-necked pheasant is the state bird of South Dakota, one of only two US state birds that is not a species native to the United States.
From some angles, these two rock formations in Halong Bay, Vietnam can look like two chickens facing each other so they call them the fighting cocks. Unfortunately, cock fighting is still practiced in Vietnam as a betting sport.
In some unreal twisted realm of life, I was able to meet Jarvis Cocker tonight (mainly because of my friend Leigh.) I talked to him for a couple of hours about books and music and then I had to ask.
"I really don't want to ruin this but I have to tell you something about me. Oops I just touched your arm I'm so sorry. Anyhow, you write these incredible lyrics and I'm sure that's how you'll remember your life someday but for me I take pictures and I'm just so afraid this didn't really happen and I'll have no way of remembering when I have senile dementia someday or just bang my head hard or in some way and completely forget who I am. And that's why I can't stop taking pictures...because for me, I know this will happen and I need to find a way to remind myself of all the experiences I had in life and who I really was.
So, could I maybe take your picture so that I can remember it?
Because I mean, I had this great dream I was taking photos of Leonard Cohen and that the Arcade Fire was playing in my living room and turns out that never happened. I want to know this really happened."
Many thanks to everyone for your views, faves and supportive comments. These are always very much appreciated

Not only are these plastic egg cups a design from the DDR, but the Meyer Optik Görlitz Diaplan 2.8/80 projector lens producing that bubble bokeh is from the former East Germany too. Entire scene is about 6cm across.
To make that bubbly background, a metallic pan scourer is illuminated by a mobile phone torch and I'm hand-holding a UK 10 pence coin (about the size of a US quarter) to give the impression of a full moon. Diaplan lens mounted to the camera with a home-made and 3D-printed adaptor.
Adjustment of levels in PP, with a bit of masking to get the best balance between two shots.

About the Breed
The merry and frolicsome Cocker Spaniel, with his big, dreamy eyes and impish personality, is one of the world's best-loved breeds. They were developed as hunting dogs, but Cockers gained their wide popularity as all-around companions. Those big, dark eyes; that sweet expression; those long, lush ears that practically demand to be touched'no wonder the Cocker spent years as America's most popular breed. The Cocker is the AKC's smallest sporting spaniel, standing about 14 to 15 inches. The coat comes in enough colors and patterns to please any taste. The well-balanced body is sturdy and solid, and these quick, durable gundogs move with a smooth, easy gait. Cockers are eager playmates for kids and are easily trained as companions and athletes. They are big enough to be sporty, but compact enough to be portable. A Cocker in full coat rewards extra grooming time by being the prettiest dog on the block. These energetic sporting dogs love playtime and brisk walks.
