*grinny:
A "grinny," (or "grinney" or "grinnie") is, in Western Pennsylvania and the Ohio River Valley at least, a chipmunk, also known in this region as a "chippie," "hackle" or "rock squirrel." In the words of the Pennsylvania Game Commission web site, "A member of the squirrel family (Sciuridae), the chipmunk is closely related to red, gray, fox and flying squirrels, and, surprisingly, the woodchuck." A "grinny" west of the Mississippi is just any old ground squirrel.
I was attempting to photograph the chipmunk, but it was camera-shy.
I left the room for a second and could hear this funny noise - rushed back out to this - she drank three quarters of the glass. I think this shows how poor my discipline skills are, instead of stopping her I was doubled over in laughter taking pictures and video.
