About the Breed

The merry and frolicsome Cocker Spaniel, with his big, dreamy eyes and impish personality, is one of the world's best-loved breeds. They were developed as hunting dogs, but Cockers gained their wide popularity as all-around companions. Those big, dark eyes; that sweet expression; those long, lush ears that practically demand to be touched'no wonder the Cocker spent years as America's most popular breed. The Cocker is the AKC's smallest sporting spaniel, standing about 14 to 15 inches. The coat comes in enough colors and patterns to please any taste. The well-balanced body is sturdy and solid, and these quick, durable gundogs move with a smooth, easy gait. Cockers are eager playmates for kids and are easily trained as companions and athletes. They are big enough to be sporty, but compact enough to be portable. A Cocker in full coat rewards extra grooming time by being the prettiest dog on the block. These energetic sporting dogs love playtime and brisk walks.

It's illegal, betting on cockfights, but making money by selling weapons to kill human beings is legal ...

Royal Air Force No.43 'Fighting Cocks' Squadron Panavia Tornado F.3 ZE887/GF on the flight line at the 2008 Biggin Hill 'Air Fair'

Introduced as the ADV (Air Defence Version) of the original MRCA (Multi-Role Combat Aircraft) concept that became the Tornado, these specialised F.3 variants serviced our QRA and front-line fighter squadrons out of Leuchars in Scotland, Coningsby in Lincolnshire and Leeming in North Yorkshire until the advent of the Typhoon which superceded the type

Coningsby also hosted the F.2/F.3 OCU No.229

Retired from use in 2011, the F.3 fleet were processed and 'parted out' through BAE's Leeming facility to help keep the GR.4 fleet flying

In it for the Rowan berries, wrinkled tho' they are. Swallowing one was like a human putting away a full size Granny Smith at one gulp - impressive.

Whether you love golden or green grasses, this place offers a perfect ground for you to lie on as a break

This picture was taken at noon while walking through a small village in the region of Isan (North-East Thailand). Local rice farmers had organised a cock fighting practice among two of their many roosters.

Please note that I do not endorse animal cruelty. Further, no animals were hurt during the practice. I simply posted this picture to depict the animosity between the two animals.

Fighting Cock's.

Its a vicious sport,

or I shouldn't even call it a sport.

A cheap form of entertainment,

for ghouls and bets.

A very fast paced event ,

that the eyes can't even keep track of.

Metal spurs are tied to the cocks legs.

The cock's fly up in the air and flap their wings,

and it doesn't look like nothing happened,

Until you see the wounds on the other bird,

Finally one gets too tired to defend itself,

and slowly dies amid the claps of the people,

gathered around.

Money changes hands,

and a new fight begins.

To bad there isn't someone fighting this hard for the birds,

to stop this devilish spectatble.

Steve.D.Hammond.

p.s. you can watch a short clip here,

if want to see a glimpse of this cheap entertainment.

I know I shouldnt post such a clip,

But sometimes closing your eyes isnt the answer.
