I had a lovely photo shoot in a really beautiful woodland setting. Bertie had a lovely playful character and he seemed to have lots of fun chasing sticks and running through the Autumn leaves.
‘Cocker Spaniel with purple ribbons’
Colour: Brown on white
Face: Brown mask
Ribbons: One on head, one on tail; purple
MY PERSOAL OPINION
The Cocker Spaniels should have docked tails. Docking is done within 2 or 3 days of birth when the nervous system isn't fully developed. I've seen docking done and other than the mother's anxiety over separation, it takes about 3 seconds usually without more than a squeak from the puppy. It would be very dangerous to anesttetize a puppy. The Cocker Spaniel is an underbrush hunting dog. They wag their tail when hunting. An undocked tail can be injured and even broken while they work. If undocked and unshaved, the tail can get caught by briars and thorns. Neither the AKC or the American Spaniel Club prohibit or encourage docking but all the illustrations are of Cockers with docked tails. Tails are docked for the same reasons that dewclaws are removed - to prevent injury.

Yes, that is what it is called by the locals. The polite version is simply the rock. Located in the Barrington Tops near Glouscter NSW, Australia. My wife remembered seeing this on an old episode of The Leyand Brothers, so when we were in the neighbourhood it was a must see. (For scale the it is around the 8-10 metres high!)
This is one of the few rock formations that acutally looked like its name, even from 3 sides. And the locals say that it gets snow on top of it during winter..... make of that what you will!
And next time I am up there I will get the proper co-ords for future reference.

The diagram is quite easy, but the model is very hard to shape well.
I'm not so well in folding 3D models......
Hahn/Cock by Katharina Fritsch, 2013. On the terrace of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.
This beautiful dog wandered into our yard and into our lives this week. With the help of a microchip we were able to contact the dog's original owner, who had since given him to someone else. After contacting this person, he admitted that he no longer wanted the dog. We quickly welcomed him into our family! (He is a much better portrait-sitter than the terriers!)
