I had some fun in photoshop with this one. I'm usually not the type to overly edit my pictures into something unnatural and unrecognizable, but I thought this looked really cool.
This photo was taken in Victoria Park, which is located in the town of Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The cobblestone streets of Brussels hold the quiet charm of a city that breathes history. Every corner reveals a piece of the past, with buildings that have witnessed centuries of change but remain as pillars of tradition and culture. Walking through these streets is like stepping into a time where architecture speaks, and the ground tells stories of old markets, artists, and gatherings that shaped Belgian identity.
Brussels, known for its blend of French and Flemish influences, preserves this essence in its alleys and hidden squares. The glow of cobblestones after a rainy night or the soft sound of footsteps echoing at dusk creates a unique atmosphere – melancholic yet warm.
These streets are not just pathways; they are living memories intertwined with the present. In Brussels, even the smallest alleyway seems to whisper that the past is never as far away as it seems.

Sighnaghi is a charming town in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia. Often called the City of Love,” Sighnaghi is famous for its romantic atmosphere and breathtaking views over the Alazani Valley and the distant Caucasus Mountains. In the image, we see Kanitha walking along the ancient fortress wall toward one of the medieval watchtowers. This wall, built in the 18th century by King Erekle II, stretches almost 4 kilometers and once featured 23 watchtowers. They were originally constructed as a defense against invasions but now stand as historical monuments and one of Sighnaghi’s main attractions. The Georgian flag proudly waves atop the tower, symbolizing national pride and the rich history of the region. Around the wall, the warm autumn colors beautifully contrast with the vast valley below and the hazy blue mountains on the horizon, creating a truly picturesque scene.

Don’t let the name fool you—the Rabbit Trail is no easy stroll! It starts at Hacienda Zuleta and takes you up into the mountains, reaching 3,140 meters. The climb is steep, but the views? Worth it! Then comes the real challenge—the way down. The trail gets steep and slippery, making every step an adventure (or a test of balance, depending on how you see it!).
We saw ancient earth mounds built by the Caranqui culture between 700 and 1500 CE. These truncated pyramids and circular mounds were used for ceremonial, residential, and astronomical purposes. Today, they’re covered in grass, which helps preserve them.
Finally, we reached Condor Huasi, where we saw Andean condors up close. A French biologist who has dedicated his life to protecting these endangered birds in Ecuador gave us a deep dive into their conservation efforts. Pretty fascinating stuff!
After the talk, we hiked a bit more than 3 km back over a mostly flat cobblestone road—a welcome change after all the climbing! After almost five hours on the trail, we were more than ready to enjoy a late (very late!) lunch.
The picture on display captures the view from the highest point of our hike (3,140m), overlooking the valley below at approximately 2,880m, where Condor Huasi is located.
Hacienda Zuleta, Zuleta, Angochagua, Province de Imbabura, Ecuador
in palma’s calatrava, the summer evening folds the streets into shadows, letting a single ribbon of light slip between the houses, guiding a lone walker through the hushed embrace of ancient stone and the day’s fading warmth.
Don't be fooled by the name—the Rabbit Trail is far from a gentle walk. Starting at Hacienda Zuleta, it ascends steeply into the mountains, reaching up to 3,140 meters above sea level. The climb can be tough in parts, but the panoramic views—expansive valleys, distant ridgelines, and the vastness of the Andean landscape—make it worthwhile.
The real adventure begins on the descent. The trail narrows and becomes slippery, especially after rain, requiring careful footing. Along the way, we passed several earth mounds built by the Caranqui culture, who inhabited this region from 700 to 1500 CE. These truncated pyramids and ceremonial platforms served rituals, residential, and astronomical purposes. Today, they are overgrown with grass, which surprisingly helps preserve them.
Eventually, we reached Cóndor Huasi, a small conservation effort aimed at protecting the Andean condor—one of the world's largest flying birds and a cultural symbol in the Andes. We met a French biologist dedicated to safeguarding these endangered birds in Ecuador. His enthusiasm and expertise brought the project to life in a personal and insightful way.
Afterward, we walked about 3 km on a cobblestone path back to the hacienda. The mostly flat route gave our legs a rest after the climb. After nearly five hours on the trail, we arrived hungry, tired, and satisfied—just in time for a late lunch.
This photo was taken along the trail, looking down into one of the steep valleys characteristic of this part of the Ecuadorian highlands. I converted it to black and white to emphasize the textures and natural lines of the landscape. Without color, the emphasis shifts to light, shape, and depth—elements often overshadowed in a more colorful scene.
Echoes of the past whisper through the night… This historic castle stands solemnly under the stars, its timeless clock frozen in the quiet darkness. A lonely streetlamp casts a soft glow on the cobblestone path, leading into the unknown. Is it an invitation or a warning?
Spotted in Dublin’s Docklands, the stunning super yacht Akula made quite the splash during its brief visit! This sleek, red beauty turned heads along the River Liffey with its bold design and sheer size—stretching over 60 meters long, it’s a floating masterpiece of luxury. Akula is owned by a mysterious Russian billionaire who prefers to keep a low profile, but this yacht has been spotted everywhere from the sun-soaked shores of Monaco to the icy fjords of Norway, living a life of adventure most of us can only dream of. With its state-of-the-art tech and plush interiors, it’s no wonder Akula—named after the Russian word for "shark"—is a predator of the high seas, always on the move to the next glamorous destination.
In this shot, two women strolling along the cobblestone path couldn’t help but stop and stare, completely captivated by the yacht’s striking presence. One of them, with her bright yellow backpack, seemed to be pointing out the yacht’s details, perhaps imagining what it’d be like to sip champagne on its deck. Her friend, bundled up in a black coat, looked equally mesmerized, maybe dreaming of a quick getaway to the Mediterranean. Who can blame them? Akula has that kind of effect—making everyone pause and wonder about the luxurious life aboard. Dublin might be grey and chilly, but for a few days, this fiery red yacht brought a burst of excitement to the city!
n the hush of golden hour, her steps trace a rhythm across old stones. the city breathes behind her, half in shadow, half in glow. silence swells, and for a moment, everything moves at the pace of light.
in the narrow alleyways of calatrava, the echoes of old palma whisper stories of yesteryear. a solitary figure, adorned in a straw hat, strolls through the cobblestone path, casting long shadows against the aged stone walls. the timeless feel of the black and white capture evokes a sense of nostalgia, where every step reverberates with the history of those who have walked these streets before. the man with the hat, a recurring motif in street photography, symbolizes an era of elegance and mystery, often serving as a bridge between the past and the present. in this instance, the straw hat of a modern tourist adds a touch of irony, blending homage with a subtle parody. it highlights the blend of old and new, tradition and tourism, paying tribute to iconic figures while gently mocking the clichés of contemporary travel. the play of light and shadow, the texture of the ancient bricks, and the lone silhouette create a poignant narrative of solitude and reflection in the heart of palma de mallorca.
A quiet cobblestone alley in the heart of Trondheim, framed by the contrast of green wooden facades and red brick walls. Once bustling with trade and local life, these narrow backstreets now offer a glimpse into the city’s layered history and architectural heritage.
Fun fact:
Many of Trondheim’s old alleys, known locally as smug, were originally built for easy access between the busy waterfront and merchant houses. Some of them still follow the same paths laid out in the Middle Ages.
The first time I walked by the gate was closed . The sign reads "Please Close The Gate" But the second time - someone forgot. I particularly loved the iron fence and the cobble stone path leading to the front door.

This captivating photo captures a charming narrow alleyway leading directly to the serene blue sea. Flanked by rustic, colorful buildings with shuttered windows, the cobblestone and asphalt pathway exudes an old-world charm. As the view opens to the expansive sea and sky, it creates a harmonious blend of urban character and natural beauty. Porvoo, Finland
A charming historic city, known for its colorful wooden houses and cobblestone streets, Porvoo boasts a well-preserved Old Town from the Middle Ages. As Finland's second oldest town, it features a scenic riverside and rich cultural heritage. The Porvoo Cathedral is a notable landmark with centuries of history. The town's natural beauty shines through its autumn leaves and rugged, rocky terrain, offering a picturesque blend of history and nature.
Wandering through this charming British village, I was drawn to the festive atmosphere created by the colorful bunting strung across the cobblestone street. The Union Jack flying proudly against a backdrop of quaint shops and white-painted buildings gave a sense of national pride. It was a lovely day to explore, with the locals going about their day and the small town vibrancy on full display.
We descended from the heights of the medieval town, winding down narrow cobblestone paths that led toward the valley below, where the bustling city awaited. The sun cast warm light on the weathered stone walls, illuminating our way as we ventured further. The weight of the sky pressed down around us as if challenging us to dream bigger. We shielded our eyes from the brightness, shaking off the lingering fatigue of our evening’s wanderings, and made our way toward the distant sound of the river flowing. This powerful promise resonated like a distant heartbeat. The air carried with it the scents of earth and stone mixed with something more—perhaps the taste of adventure or the thrill of escaping the confines of the town we had known so well.

Standing beneath the ancient arch, I found myself gazing through centuries as the timeless cobblestone path led my eye towards the historic village and its central church tower. This scene, framed by history's embrace, was a seamless blend of the past and the present, where every stone and leaf seemed to whisper stories of yesteryear. As modern-day villagers walked the same path trod by generations before them, I captured this moment—a testament to the enduring spirit of the community and the timeless dialogue between architecture and nature.
The Limmat River runs through Zurich, and is tightly bound at both ends. On both side, the city has created walkways and roads and the place looks really nice. In this photo, you can see many people walking in this shopping area, and you can see parts of the river and a bridge on the left side, and an approaching tram in the distance. Since this was a holiday, most of the shops that we could see were closed and the number of people out on the roads were also very limited. The road was shining because it had recently rained, and you can also see the metal tram tracks that are fixed on the road surface. Using cycles as a form of personal transport is also something that we could see a number of people doing.
