All need is some sand, sea, surf & barnacle-clad rocks to keep me happy. A camera helps too :)
Happy weekend everyone!
While browsing through the old photos on my phone, I came across some wonderful memories from my visit to Perun Mountain at the start of last year. I strolled along the narrow paths of this lesser-known mountain, a sibling to the more famous Mosor Mountain, in search of tranquility amidst the bustling city of Split, which was clearly visible from my vantage point in the picture. It was truly a moment of discovery. I ventured deep into the cold winter night, yet my heart yearned to linger near the quaint St. George's Chapel. I promise myself to return there in the near future.
Does it look to like the clouds and waves seem to merge? Perhaps the whitecaps are just clouds of the sea—or maybe the clouds are just waves of the sky. The sand on the other hand is just sandy sand.
On a lighter note, I had a nice long bike ride this morning. When I got home, my bike fell over. Appears it was just two-tired!
Thank you for any comments and likes, they are always greatly appreciated!
Waterscape 17/100 for 2025
In this photo, we are presented with a picturesque landscape capturing a land field in a hometown. The vertical composition allows us to take in the full breadth of the scene.
On the left half of the photo, we see a cultivated area, characterized by its earthy brown tones. This portion likely represents human intervention and agricultural activity, with plowed or harvested fields showcasing the efforts of local farmers.
In stark contrast, the right half of the photo reveals an expanse of vibrant greenery. This uncultivated and unmown section presents a more natural and wild aesthetic. Tall grasses, wildflowers, and native plants create a lush and untouched atmosphere, unaffected by human hands.
As we explore the background, our eyes are drawn to a majestic forest that emerges beyond the land field. The dense canopy of trees adds depth and texture to the scene, while a gentle hill rises amidst the forest, offering a picturesque focal point. This transition from agricultural land to a thriving forest reveals the harmony between human activity and nature's resilience.
Above the land field and forest, the sky stretches wide with its varying shades of blue. Cloud formations and the soft glow of the sun add a touch of serenity to the overall composition. The sky's vastness enhances the sense of openness and allows us to appreciate the beauty of the landscape even more.
Through this photo, we are invited to immerse ourselves in the diverse elements of this landscape—a cultivated land, untouched greenery, a forest with a gentle hill, and a captivating sky. It serves as a reminder of the harmonious coexistence of human activity and the natural world, offering a glimpse into the beauty that surrounds us.
If I owned a boat, it would be no problem to climb down.
Location: Southern side of the island of Šolta. The cove is called Mija Luka (translates to a tiny port which is paradox because there is no port)
A tranquil coastal scene taken near sunset at São Mateus, a civil parish within the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores.
Waves crash with raw power against the rugged rocks of a secluded seaside platform, filling the air with spray and foam. The small cove seems both inviting and dangerous, caught between the calm of the horizon and the relentless surge of the tide. Nature’s strength dominates the scene, reminding us of the fragile balance between land and sea.
I love exploring new beaches and this weekend we were lucky enough to stay in a caravan park right on Racecourse Beach at Bawley Point down the NSW south coast. It’s a stunning stretch of coastline, dotted with one beautiful beach after another.
This one is Shelly Beach, (same name as our local Shelly Beach) area. The cloud formations here really caught my eye - they looked like sunrays, only made of cloud. I think the high wispy ones are cirrus, and the lower ones... well, not so serious — cumulus. 😉
Hope everyone’s having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by — your visits and comments are always appreciated. 🙏
Waterscape 91/100 for 2025
Tucked between the dense green breath of the forest and the rhythmic whispers of the sea, a solitary red shrine stands still—weathered by salt, wind, and time.
Here, silence speaks.
The waves arrive like pilgrims, the breeze carries forgotten prayers, and the land holds its secrets in roots and stone.
A lone figure wanders the water’s edge, not lost—but searching,
for something only the shore can answer.
Battling the cold and strong winds, I walked much further than I'd originally planned to capture this shot of Yaquina Lighthouse. With the tide coming in fast, I wasn’t sure I’d make it back to the car in time, but the view made it worth the effort.
Two fishing boats lie quietly on the shore — one large and present in the foreground, the other smaller, almost like a quiet echo in the background.
The setting sun bathes the scene in warm light, while gentle waves roll in from the sea. A moment of stillness, captured between day and night — simple, honest, and full of open space.
An image for those who don’t just look at the sea, but feel it.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, impressions, or feedback — and feel free to stop by my gallery for more.
Für mich ist es immer wichtig die Balance zu halten zwischen der Stadt und der urbanen Landschaft und der Natur ... ich versuche Euch auch mal öfter in meine Welt der Landschaft mitzunehmen.

Uniola paniculata is a tall, subtropical grass that is an important component of coastal sand dune and beach plant communities in the southeastern United States, eastern Mexico and some Caribbean islands. Its large seed heads that turn golden brown in late summer give the plant its common name. Its tall leaves trap wind-blown sand and promote sand dune growth, while its deep roots and extensive rhizomes act to stabilize them, so the plant helps protect beaches and property from damage due to high winds, storm surges and tides. It also provides food and habitat for birds, small animals and insects.

A black-headed gull perched calmly on a weathered post at the old harbor of Kats, bathed in soft pink light from the setting sun. Just moments before, a rainbow had arched across the opposite sky—now gone, but the glow remains. Quiet, moody, and a little magical.
Many Croatian artists have written about the strongest wind called Bura. Although Senj is one of the most sunniest cities in Croatia, most days here in Senj are accompanied by Bura that can reach 173 km/h (city's record). Great thing is that I found myself in this city with turbulent historical events while having clear sky and friendly Sun illuminating my smiling face.
the man rolls silent through the falling sun, wrapped in shadow, facing the shimmer of the sea — as if riding not just the path, but time itself.
beneath the clouds, across the distant marina, the evening exhales gently over palma bay.
This sunset is taken on the beach called "La Ropa". In Spanish it means "The Clothes". According to local legend, sometime in the late 17th century one of the Manila galleons shipwrecked while returning from the orient, and its cargo of silks and fine clothing washed up all along the longest beach in Zihuatanejo Bay.
Last September, I had the chance to soak in this dreamy view of Portofino’s harbor. The gentle hum of boats, the glistening water, and those iconic pastel buildings—absolute perfection! ️✨ The crisp sea breeze and the golden light made this little corner of the Italian Riviera feel like pure magic. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this postcard-worthy vibe? 😍

A small log — silent traveler — carries memories of distant lands, beyond the maps, shaped by wind, water, and time.
through the round embrace of shadow, a palm stands like a cathedral spire against the pale sky of palma, while a lone figure drifts beneath its arching leaves, a quiet witness to the poetry of summer’s stillness
In the blue immensity of the Atlantic Ocean, where the land bids farewell to the continent and embraces the sea, hides an unspoilt paradise - Praia da Alagoa, on the island of Flores, in the Azores, where time slows down and nature reveals itself in all its purity: the vibrant green of the vegetation, the volcanic black of the rocks and the deep blue of the sea intertwine in a unique harmony. A refuge where the wind whispers ancient stories and the sea sings songs of eternity.
As the sun's gentle rays kissed the horizon, I stood in awe of the majestic seastacks adorning Secret Beach in the Samuel H Boardman Corridor, Oregon. These ancient geological formations stood tall and resilient, basking in the ethereal glow of the morning light. The benefit of an ultra-low tide allowed me to get up close and personal with nature's splendor.
Thanks so much for looking!

Rain-soaked from relentless Atlantic waves, I aimed my lens down the iconic seawall to catch a tourist celebrating the surge’s triumphant crash. Under Havana’s twilight, the Malecon becomes a stage where human exuberance meets raw ocean force, each droplet glinting like suspended jewels. In capturing this split-second interplay, I learned that art sometimes demands we step into the splash zone—shirt drenched and shutter humming.
Here on the shore, we suffer for our art, discovering that the best moments are worth every salty drop.
Capturing the rugged beauty of weathered granite rocks by the sea is a powerful reminder of nature’s slow, relentless artistry. These ancient stones, shaped by salt, wind, and crashing waves, tell a silent story of time and transformation. Early morning light or golden hour glow brings out the rich textures and subtle colors etched into their surfaces. With each photo, you’re not just snapping a landscape—you’re freezing a moment in the ongoing dance between land and ocean. #CoastalVibes #GraniteAndWaves #NaturePhotography
The Dublin-Holyhead ferry connection is a vital link between Ireland and the UK, with the veteran Stena Europe proudly sailing this route. Here, it arrives at Dublin Port, framed by the Great South Wall at Poolbeg—a historic breakwater perfect for a refreshing sea breeze and a scenic stroll to the iconic red Poolbeg Lighthouse.

This dramatic aerial shot captures the raw, natural beauty of Namibia’s coast, where the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash into the stark, sculpted sands of the desert. captured in the quiet coastal district of portixol, this striking portrait draws you into an intimate moment of contemplation. the close-up of the man’s face, with his intense gaze and subtle expression, reveals a moment of deep reflection as he takes a break from his meal. the natural light falling on his skin accentuates the texture and detail, adding depth to his quiet demeanor. set against the blurred backdrop of portixol’s calm atmosphere, this image portrays both the beauty of solitude and the power of stillness in an otherwise bustling world.
