Adirondack Railroad RS-3 #29 bites into Babcock Hill just out of Richfield Jct, NY on it's maiden voyage across the Central New York Railroad as part of Walter Rich's Delaware & Otsego empire in March of 1882. The unit was picked up in an assets auction after the shut down of the Adirondack in anticipation of an expanding D&O. On the rear of the train is a Pennsylvania Railroad P70 style coach that was also acquired at the auction making this look sort of like a mixed train. In the coming weeks the unit would become New York, Susquehanna & Western #29, but that wouldn't last for long. By the end of 1982 she would be the 104.
