Yeah I know, wrong track. But what ya gonna do? IHB 4019 and 4014 lead another BP2 for Bensenville through the clutter-fest that is CP Canal. Again, details have been lost to time.

In this view, BP2 is crossing the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. This structure is famous (infamous?) in Chicago's history, as it reversed the flow of the Chicago river, sending the city's sewage and pollution towards the Mississippi River. Saint Louis got the last laugh though; they simply packaged it up and sent it back as "Budweiser".

Truly a hidden gem in the middle of Reykjavík. This is beautiful and fairly large park and, inexplicably but fortunately, not in the tourist's radar. Besides of being the epicenter for some major historic events (I understand that the 'open air' Árbæjarsafn museum is near and you can find many information boards along the way), it's absolutely beautiful.Walking around the paths within the forest is so refreshing and revitalizing. The Elliðaá river that goes through the valley and delimits the park, form very nice waterfalls screaming to be photographed. It's the perfect escape for the bustling-tourist-filled downtown. Just amazing.

I have often thought that the trouble with dreams or goals even is that they don't generally make a coherent mass and you wind up with clutter. This is a Tanguy painting dreamed up with, believe it or not, Del Sarto's The Madonna in Her Glory. In this case she seems to have given all the trucks in the sky. Odd, that.

A lost soul from last July. I confess to pushing the contrast on this, which makes the colors stand out more, but I didn't actually alter any of the colors.

Possibly too 'busy' a scene, but this is a typical view of the fishing paraphernalia found at The Stade in the late afternoon.

Friday afternoons are always busy (well relatively so for our current era) at East Deerfield and this day was no different with three different trains all working at once. Here is train EDRJ doubling up their train at the west end of East Deerfield Yard. They will soon be under way to the far western end of the Pan Am system at Rotterdam Junction, NY. The C40-8W, SD40-2, C40-8W trio of MEC 7727, 3403, 7835 leading the train are framed up by the classic clutter of all the old school Boston and Maine era infrastructure still hanging on.

In the background can br seen the locomotive shop while standing guard in the foreground is a link to the past, known as WX Tower in B&M parlance it controlled from Cheapside, half way between Greenfield and E Deerfield to the crossover at Montague, MA. The control machine was a GRS direct wire type and controlled the holding signals at Cheapside, the west end of the yard, the east end of the yard and Montague crossover. Built during the 1920s it is similar in design and style to other surving B&M towers of the era including those in Waltham, Ayer, and Johnsonville. It closed December 9, 1981 when control passed to the dispatcher in North Billerica.

I wasn't anticipating the effect that seeing this would finally have on me, as I was moved to tears by it. Part of it was shear exhaustion from a day of very hard work to chase it down, and get away from incredibly cluttered skies filled with storms. I'll tell more of the story later, and there are better photos to come. This is just a sample from a first edit. Too tired tonight to do anything else! 10 miles SE of Beatrice, Nebraska.

Went to visit my brother and his family for his birthday yesterday afternoon. I rode with my sister and brother-in-law. He drove so I had time to take photos along the way. This looks like a nice place to take photographs. I would like to take a drive there sometime.

Happy Monday/New Week everyone!

The 4864 will soon be switching over to AAR 85 as they pop up on Staples DS' board and leave West Hump's board here at the Big Lake control point. The long summer evenings provide the opportunity for shooting from the north side of the tracks for nearly a head-on perspective.

I'm feeling a little disorganized today.

I see an open spot...perhaps they should cram just one more thing there! =) I guess considering how valuable square footage is in the city, the store owners felt that it was prudent to show as many items for sale as possible in the display window. =)
