Bridport is now a major drawcard for two of the world's best links golf courses (according to Golf Digest). Barnbougle is a lot like the Scottish links that made the game of golf so unique. No trees, plenty of wild grass rough and more sand than you'd find this side of the Gibson Desert.

Over the next few days I'll tell you the story of these two famous courses - played by US Masters winner Adam Scott whenever he visits Australia. But for the moment I recommend you get a taste by looking at their superb presentation website: barnbougle.com.au/

Golfer's heaven!

Sunset panorama at the yacht club.

It was the last time I looked out that window. A year and a half later on June 1, 2018, the clubhouse burnt to the ground.

Something a little different from my usual landscapes.

I came across this building on my walk to Trearddur Bay. It stood out from all the other buildings on the coast so I had to grab a photo.

Union Pacific’s N200 manifest has stopped to switch in Spanish Fork, Utah the afternoon of Feb. 6, 1988. After the agency here closed in 1973, UP donated the building to a local chapter of the Old Timers Club, named for South Central District manager Harold B. Brandt. The Harriman standard depot along the Provo Subdivision at 5802 South Depot Road has seen very little use over the years, sitting vacant and derelict for decades.

Jekyll Island Clubhouse in Georgia

Jekyll Island was once winter homes for the most powerful American families including Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Astor, Morgan, for almost 60 years. Those men, reportedly worth one-sixth of the world’s wealth at the time, purchased the island in 1886, turning it into an opulent getaway called the Jekyll Island Club. It remained an exclusive resort until the years just following World War II.

During WWII, German submarines were spotted in the area and the U.S. government, fearing the Germans might attempt to come ashore and kidnap the island's wealthy inhabitants, ordered everyone away. They never returned and in 1947 the state of Georgia reclaimed the property at the bargain price of $675,000 and established Jekyll Island as a State Park.

The Clubhouse is now a central part of the Jekyll Island Club Resort with guest rooms, suites, dining room, etc.

The highlight of yesterday's visit to the Wolfsburg car city was the PREMIUM CLUBHOUSE pavilion. Even the entrance is worth seeing with a light installation made of fluorescent tubes like those used on billboards, but more on that later. First we go to the object of desire, a fully mirrored Bugatti Veyron 16.4, it was not easy to find the right position to keep the reflections of the light installation in the entrance area as low as possible. Since a b / w version was already made by Rafi, I want to do without it. I still hope I managed to get a reasonably showable picture ;-)

The Appalachian Clubhouse is a historic structure located in the Elkmont Historic District. It was used as a gathering spot by lessees and guests of the Appalachian Club, which was established in 1910. Club members, mostly from Knoxville, built rustic cabins nearby to serve as weekend or summer retreats in the years before the park was created. The original clubhouse was destroyed by fire and replaced by the exsiting building in 1934. The building has now been rehabilitated by the National Park Service to its appearance in the 1930s.

The historic Chapel Hill Golf Course clubhouse near Princeton, IL. The golf course started out as Chapel Hill Country Club around 1905 with the clubhouse being completed in 1914. It was a stop along the Inter-Urban rail line between Princeton and Bureau Junction.

The Umhlanga Coast is a magnificent stretch of the South African shoreline. It shows off the splendour and wonder of this country in a tranquil display that remains extremely powerful. This is part of KwaZulu-Natal and is very close to the city centre of Durban, which is the province’s main city and one of South Africa’s major metropolises. However, the Umhlanga Coast whisks you away from the bustle of city living and to the peaceful prettiness of the Indian Ocean as it lazily dances onto the sand.
