The Technopark-Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) today added another enabler for startups looking to achieve global competitiveness by partnering tech major HP for cost-effective and dynamic cloud computing services. With this the Technopark-TBI has become the first incubator in India to roll out cloud computing technology for startups and the services is the first-of-its-kind for HP in India.
HP Enterprise Service which will provide cloud services exclusively to TBI incubated companies at special, discounted rates through Trivandrum-based Techpool Consultancy Services. Dr K C Chandrasekharan Nair, Managing Diector, Technopark TBI, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Mr. Regi Mathai, Managing Director, Techpool at a ceremony at Park Centre, Technopark on Thursday. HP Enterprises Services Director Mr. Susanta Bhattacharya handed over the HP operation letter to Technopark-TBI CEO Mr. Hrishikesh Nair. The service marks a new chapter for TBI and will be able to meet the growing computing infrastructure and data requirements of the incubatees and accelerate technical innovations in the IT sector, Mr Hrishikesh Nair said. A seminar was organised by T- TBI in association with Techpool, TBIG and Technopark after the signing to give startups more information about cloud computing and the services on offer. Mr Sudhir Rao, CTO, HP Enterprise Service, pointed out that with cloud, information can be processed and developed from anywhere. “HP helps clients make the leap from old style to new style of IT. Our strategy is to provide solutions for the new style of IT,” he said.
As data needs and IT-related complaints soar, a new approach is needed for speed and security, which cloud service aims at, he said, adding that cloud is a highly scalable and elastic technology. Cloud Solutions deliver on demand capacity for building and testing applications, flexing to meet peak demands of enterprise applications, and enabling rapid deployment of new applications and services to the business.Cloud Solution services offers flexibility and agility to unleash the innovation a business needs for growth. The seminar also focused on virtual private cloud, multiple OS options, client portal and control through service catalog, physical and virtual compute resources and consumption billing. Chief Cloud Officer Mr G S Moorthy, Technopark CEO Mr K G Girish Babu also spoke at the event.

Big success for TechSoup Brasil at the April 10 NGO Connection Day in Curitiba, organized by Microsoft Brazil, nonprofit GRPCOM Institute, Ação Voluntária, and TSG NGO partner ATN (which provides services to the sector through corporate and university partnerships and its network of telecenters). A total of 115 people from 103 NGOs heard about technology solutions with an emphasis on Microsoft Office 365, major trends in Cloud Computing and other products offered by TechSoup Brasil. Speakers included ATN General Director José Avando Sales, Microsoft Corporate Communications & Citizenship Director Kátia Gianone, and TechSoup Brazil’s Valter Cegal.
